Agents of SHIELD Gets Full Season

Not a Surprise

Agents of SHIELD, only on ABC.

It isn’t surprising that Marvel and Disney have decided to give the Agents of SHIELD a full season. Officially, ABC has picked up the back 9 episodes, meaning that Agents of SHIELD will get a full 22 episodes.

“S.H.I.E.L.D. opened as TV’s highest-rated new drama in nearly four years despite airing in a tough 8 p.m. time slot. Subsequent episodes have dropped notably from that perch, yet this week’s entry still ranked second in the hour with 7.9 million viewers and a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating”. EW

What do you think Maniacs? The show is fun, but as fans of this genre we all know that it needs to improve. What would you change about the series?

Awesome.  Haters can hate but I think this show is just going to pick up steam as time goes on.  Them introducing Gravaton is just proof to me of that.  They ARE doing super villains. Now they need to bring in Madam Hydra, MODOK/AIM, Baron Zemo, Grim Reaper and all the other awesome rouge's gallery of super villains that SHIELD has.

Now, for more super HEROS. Who else wants Moon Knight? How about some Punisher? Or Dare Devil? Luke Cage and Hero's for Hire? That list is long too.

What's to change? The show is fun, looks good, what else is there to do other then giving a chance to the show to grow?

The only wish list I would suggest is dropping more names into the show from the Marvel U. Heck, even from Shield they could still drop a few names so, still time to continue the fun show that it is for now.

It's a great news.

I'm on the fence with this show.  I think the only characters that are interesting is Coulson and Skye.  Generic spyman and generic british techs need serious character development.  As for Ming Na, I didn't like her character at first, but that should change since she's not whining about being in the field anymore.  The other issue I have is with the references to the Avenger's movie.  We get it, the show is in the same universe.  There is no need to reinforce it several times per episode.

With all of these issues, I still watch the show because I have faith in Joss Whedon and expect it to iron out all of the wrinkles by mid season.

I wouldn't change anything. Let the show grow and see where it goes. It's set in the Marvel universe so it has plenty of ways to grow and connect with more of the Marvel characters.

The have to reference the Avengers movie for a while, that is why this team was created. That would get old after a while, but not after 3 shows.
Everyone loves Coulson because he's a great character. Every guy loves Skye because she's beautiful. Hermione and Chekov will get an episode to help us conect to them more. I am very anxious to see other characters from the universe. My fingers are crossed that Thor shows up, even if just in the end credits prior to the next moving opening or maybe a few weeks after. If they don't tie the timeline in I will be dissaponited. I would love to see them develop Scarlett Witch into a character on this show and then bump her up to the "A" team in the second movie. So far, I would change nothing... except maybe putting Skye in spandex but that is a personal prefence.

Axia - I heard (nothing concrete yet, but I've heard) that the proposed "Punisher" TV series that Fox was thinking of developing a few years ago may actually be headed for ABC also.  If it has to be on ABC, let's hope it has a 9:00 or 10:00 time slot at least.

ElBaz13 10/11/2013 10:50:46 AM

Punisher on ABC? No.

Would rather see it on FX or AMC.

Looks like they are keeping Hydra for Cap 2 although would be a great tie in.

Good !

SarcasticCaveman 10/11/2013 11:04:42 AM

I'm sure we would all rather see a "Punisher" show on a network that allows more than ABC, but I'm just glad the project is still being considered.

@Elbaz:  I am sure that they will tie in HYDRA with the new SHIELD shows as they one of the min groups fighting with SHIELD all the time.  It is only natural.  I still want that rumor that this "Skye" girl is really Jessica Drew and will move over into being Spiderwoman.  Now that would kick ass.
