Welcome to another week of the Countdown, where time is ticking down but we are too busy to notice because of all the games we play. This week spring break seems all but dead, which will allow us to catch up on a few of the titles that came out recently. I am sure plenty of people are ready to get back to school, willing or unwilling, and so they need to continue looking for a release. Hopefully the following games are enough to wet your chops.

SingStar Pop / SingStar Rock (PS2) - Care to get down and boogie with your PS2? Here is your chance with the latest in Karaoke games! This one grades you depending on how well you sing, just like the other games though. At least there is a bundle that you can use with 2 microphones.

World Championship Cards (PS2) - Well if you like card games, I do not believe that you will need to find a different game than this.

Enchanted Arms (PS3) - An interesting RPG with a story about devils being released, while others have enchanted arms to battle them, and from I played of it on the Xbox 360, it was fairly interesting. I guess it goes to say that all next generation games pretty much need to be sold on all the systems to make ends meet. At least the Sony Playstation 3 owners are getting a bit more choice in games, and an RPG to enjoy.

Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (PSP - Wii) - The Prince makes his way home to Babylon, bearing with him Kaileena, the enigmatic Empress of Time, and unspeakable scars from the Island of Time. But instead of the peace he longs for, he finds his kingdom ravaged by war and Kaileena the target of a brutal plot. Sounds like the theme from the last game, so hopefully the PSP and the Wii do the game justice or else the Prince will be after them.

Guitar Hero II (Xbox 360) - Another round of Guitar Hero in the works, this one building on the PS2 experience. The most notable change involves the achievements, but also the stylish guitar. You can also extend your gameplay by downloading additional songs, which may even make the game worth purchasing again if you purchased it on the PS2. Because this game is fantastic, and the expanded songs available via Xbox Live Marketplace, I am going to have to give it the nod for Game of the Week.

Cake Mania (DS) - A bit more of the cake cooking adventure, here you will try and churn out cakes for profit. I remember trying a game like this on the PC, and it was quite enjoyable, and I am confident that you will enjoy it as well.

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales (DS) - The game starts when the Final Fantasy black magician brings a picture book onto the Chocobo farm. This book is actually home to the great devil Bebuzu, and it sucks the entire farm into its pages. Chocobo heads on an adventure with the white and black magicians in order to stop Bebezu from reviving himself to full form.

Well this was another week of the Countdown, and I hope that you enjoyed it. I will note that I did enjoy how many games were being released over the break since it reminded me of the holidays. I am not sure about everyone else, but I just love seeing so many different works released for us to hopefully enjoy. Were they all good? Not at all. But were there enough good ones to make up for it? Totally. Anyways, this is Captain Gordon signing off.
