Due out worldwide at the end of February, Akira will mark its high definition home video debut on Blu-ray. The release is getting a lot of attention after being delayed from the initial round of high definition offerings by Bandai Visual last year, but the company is making up for it with a stellar planned release, particularly for audio fans as it will include a 192 kHz 24bit Japanese Dolby TrueHD 5.1 language track. I am a big fan of this anime. I must have seen it 3-4 times already. Im sure the Blu-Ray will be great.
