but i fucks with the Hughes brothers though. Detroit stand up

There's a couple of pieces of movement out there today after the previous reporting about James Franco being in talks to take on the role of Kaneda in the live action Akira adaptation. First there's word out of Variety that they've got a new scriptwriter on it with Steve Kloves having been hired to work on the current draft of the script and get it up to where they want it based on the usual evolution of a film. Kloves is rather well konwn at the moment as being the one who wrote the screenplays for the Harry Potter movies outside of the fifth one, though some film lovers will go back to one of his best works where he wrote and directed The Fabulous Baker Boys.
The folks over at Collider have some interesting information out on their end in regards to Mila Kunis, who has aparently passed on working with the Hughes Brothers on the Akira film. She was originally going to be up for the part of Kei in it but only if they could get a major star to play opposite of her for Kaneda. And apparently Brad Pitt was offered the role which really continues to emphasize how dramatically they're changing what much of the original work is really about. Kunis ended up passing on the role and instead signed on to play the Wicked Witch of the West in the new Oz, The Great and Powerful movie that Sam Raimi is doing

I'm sure there was english in those posts somewhere, but I'm having trouble parsing it........
What does 'finna' mean? If it means that Akira is going to suck, I concur.
Akira should have Tokio and japanese (at least asian) actors for the main roles. I like James Franco... but not as Kaneda. I'll save my money here!
If they're going to americanize this, I don't see any point in even calling it Akira. The movie studio will inevitably dumb down the story so that Joe the plumber can watch it without thinking too hard. More cool motorcycles, laser guns and explosions, less philosphy, wierd psychic dreams and strange old toddlers. Just give the movie a new name and have "based on the film Akira" in the opening credits.
timatheezon must be from the south, as "finna" obviously means "fixin' to" which in turns means "about to".
I don't know why, but I am kind of embarrassed that I immediately knew what he meant.
At 33 this is going be a bit like the teenagers from Grease but without the songs.
They are finna americanize and RUIN this shit
