Mania Review: Oz the Great and Powerful (Article) - 3/8/2013 1:30:30 PM

"Mania gave it a B.....most other reviews pan the crap out of it!"

Ummm it currently has 94 positive reviews and 62 negative, the majority of the reviews for the movie are good, regardless it could have gotten lousy reviews  and I would not care, I don't let movie critics determine what I see this looks like a fun movie and I will probably see it this weekend hopefully.

Dinklage for X-Men Days of Future Past (Article) - 2/14/2013 9:34:04 PM

Oh God this is an awful thought, but I remember from the 1990's X-Men cartoon  where Mr. Sinister had a lackey named "BRAIN CHILD."  He was located and in charge of Mr. Sinisters Savage Land base, and he was a hilariously awful character who they put in the cartoon simply because he was from the comics I guess.

The best part about him was the way he spoke and extended the pronunctiation of his name LOL- "I AM BRAAAIIIIN CHIIIILLLD!"

I guess this actor could play him I suppose (cringe)

Mania Box Office Report: Gobble Gobble Vampires Win (Article) - 11/26/2012 12:23:25 AM

Anyone think its weird that no one on this site reviewed Rise of the Guardians, it was one of the better animated films I have seen in a while, and it was very enjoyable as well, but its been out almost a week and has no review yet.

Mania Review: Cloud Atlas (Article) - 10/26/2012 9:21:12 AM

Wow this review makes the reviewer look like a total jaded prick, seriously.  I mean the thing has over 80 positive reviews on rottentomatoes, and got a standing ovation at a Toronto film Festival, and this guy gives it an F, what a joke.  I can't wait to see the rating he gives to Silent Hill Revelation another movie I think looks pretty enjoyable, this guy slams so many movies that are actually pretty good his reviews are patheticallly laughable and this one in paticular make him seem like an a$$hole nothing less.

Mania Review: Total Recall (Article) - 8/3/2012 12:57:53 AM

Pfffft, a D from this guy bascially means the film is probably a C or B-.  I plan on seeing this one tommorrow night, I think it looks pretty good, the Verhoeven version is fun as well but no more than a B movie.

I love how critics are bashing this film for the chase scenes, action, special effects, etc.  Funny thats about all the original is remembered for that and Arnolds over the top performance.  I also love the fact that people complain about the lack of humor in the new version, ummm yeah I don't expect them to be cracking jokes or cheesey one liners to much in a movie that looks like this, it looks like a serious Sci-Fi movie so I expect the humor to be kept to a minimum.

Detractors also seem to whine about the lack of an R rating, thats a stupid complaint as the one thing that would bring to the movie would be over the top gore more than likely and nudity which really serves no purpose in a movie like this.  (Verhoeven however used over the top gore to an goofy degree in his movies and through nudity around so much you could assume he was a pretty big pervert in real life).

In the end I will see this movie and probably enjoy it, bump the critics.

Mania Box Office Report: Brave Victory (Article) - 6/24/2012 5:59:19 PM

I guess this is the Summer movie goers decided to play it cheap, I mean really people might say well Summers movies were bad, well if your going to go the "Uber douche Critic" route the movies this Summer are no worse than Summer movies from years past, its just people don't seem to be going to the movies.

Heck you cannot even site critical reviews as being much as a "Must see or a Deterrent" when it came to people going to the movies, and  while "The Avengers" did really well and got good reviews, Men in Black III got good reviews overall but wound up being a dissapointment domestically, The Dictator (got decent reviews for a raunchy comedy but basically dissapointed),  Prometheus (got good reviews but will probably come in a little over its budget domestically but thats it).

I personally have a feeling that Ted will perform like every other dumb raunchy comedy and make around $85-$120 million before leaving theaters, thanks mostly to Seth Mc"Douche"Bags idiot fanbase.

The new Spiderman will proabably underperform because no one I know is looking forward to it, they should not have rebooted it, plus the new guy playing Spiderman seems unlikable, and add to the fact that The Lizard is a lame stand alone villain (heck if you are going to use the Lizard bring in someone else like Kraven the Hunter or something).  I I predict around $250-$300 million for Spidermans newest movie.

I have a feeling as well that The Dark Knight Rises will probably not do as well as The Dark Knight simply due to the fact of the villain choice, Ledger's performance and the drama around his death really helped the second film, there is none of that this time.  Bane is not Joker, so he does not have the mass appeal of other Batman villains outside of comic and cartoon fans (plus Nolan's design for him just looks dumb). Also the hype for this film does not seem to be as strong as the hype for the second one.

I predict a $200 million opening for The Dark Knight Rises and around a $450 million or less domestic take.

Amazing Spider-Man Lizard Photo (Article) - 5/24/2012 9:56:20 PM

Yeah I will be honest, from that picture The Lizard looks like something out of that old DINOSAURS TV show, from the early 1990's, I mean really it looks kind of goofy.

GI Joe Retaliation Delayed (Article) - 5/24/2012 3:53:20 AM

Eh guess I'll wait till March to see it, I think Battleship doing poorly and the fact that so many people did not like the first film (even though I did really like it) spooked them somewhat, plus the fact that Spiderman opened the week after and Batman two weeks after to steal their audience probably did not help things.

Truthfully it really sucks but the move makes some sense financially, I mean truthfully at best it was going to have a $60 million opening, and depending on WOM it would either develop a slight hold against Spiderman or loose a lot of its audience entirely.

I doubt Hasbro wanted two duds related to its properties this Summer, so they probably pressured Paramount to move it.

Mania Box Office Report: Avengers Sinks Battleship (Article) - 5/21/2012 12:27:58 PM

I love that the author of the article says no one is looking forward to Men in Black III, yeah thats a load of bull plenty of people want to see that one, heck it has almost 200,000 want to see votes on Rottentomatoes, and heck the theme song/music video for MIB III already has like 9 million views on youtube, so yeah I think plenty of people are interested in the movie.  I know I will be seeing it this weekend.

I saw Dark Shadows yesterday, it wasn't great  but it was pretty good, a fun gothicky Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaberation.  The movie definitely was weird in places, but I would probably base that on the fact that it was trying at least in part to stay true to the TV series, which I never liked, I personally thought the film actually could of used more comedic bits.

I have not seen Battleship, and might/might not, as MIB III is coming out this week, but I doubt its gotten all the hate its gotten online, heck while its got a negative rating on Rottentomatoes, the movie has like 70 positive reviews so apparently there are some definite things to enjoy in the movie, also it did not deserve the F rating it got here, but hey thats Rob Vaux and hardly anyone here agrees with his reviews.

Basically if critics were honest they would just come out and say they hate the movie because its a film based on  a board game and a lot of them just can't stand that,  plus its a movie obviously made to make money and they hate that as well, thats a primary reason its gotten bashed so much.

Mania Box Office Report: Full of Katniss (Article) - 4/22/2012 8:51:28 PM

Wow looking at the top 10 its  hard to believe that a lot of people are going to the movies, I have not been in three weeks and probably won't go back until The Avengers comes out (HELL YES!), then after that I will probably be going about once a week as Summer Movie Season is upon us.

But Seriously here is how the top ten can be broken down for me:

1- Urban/Ghetto comedy that I have no desire to see (unless Meagan Good was nude or topless)

2- Another Nicholas Sparks chick flick based on another of his hundred books.

3- Over-hyped but decent, although pretty boring book to film adaptation.

4-Something that looks like I could watch it for free on National Geographic.

5-An awful comedy I would not even Redbox accept for the scene with Kate Upton in the Nun-kini

6-Meh I might watch this one eventually, but just because a friend wants to see it.

7-The film that allows a bunch of crappy raunchy movie actors to collect once last check from a franchise few care about anymore.

8-Titanic 3-D, meh if I did not pay to see Phantom Menace in 3-D, I am sure as hell not going to pay $12.00 to see this overly long chick flick in theaters.

9-Douche bag comedy, based on lame TV show, starring two actors (Hill and Tatum) that I cannot stand).

10-If I was wanting to watch the Snow White story, I would just wait until Snow White and The Huntsman come out later this Summer.
