Amazing Spider-Man Lizard Photo (Article) - 5/24/2012 9:56:20 PM

Yeah I will be honest, from that picture The Lizard looks like something out of that old DINOSAURS TV show, from the early 1990's, I mean really it looks kind of goofy.

GI Joe Retaliation Delayed (Article) - 5/24/2012 3:53:20 AM

Eh guess I'll wait till March to see it, I think Battleship doing poorly and the fact that so many people did not like the first film (even though I did really like it) spooked them somewhat, plus the fact that Spiderman opened the week after and Batman two weeks after to steal their audience probably did not help things.

Truthfully it really sucks but the move makes some sense financially, I mean truthfully at best it was going to have a $60 million opening, and depending on WOM it would either develop a slight hold against Spiderman or loose a lot of its audience entirely.

I doubt Hasbro wanted two duds related to its properties this Summer, so they probably pressured Paramount to move it.

Mania Box Office Report: Avengers Sinks Battleship (Article) - 5/21/2012 12:27:58 PM

I love that the author of the article says no one is looking forward to Men in Black III, yeah thats a load of bull plenty of people want to see that one, heck it has almost 200,000 want to see votes on Rottentomatoes, and heck the theme song/music video for MIB III already has like 9 million views on youtube, so yeah I think plenty of people are interested in the movie.  I know I will be seeing it this weekend.

I saw Dark Shadows yesterday, it wasn't great  but it was pretty good, a fun gothicky Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaberation.  The movie definitely was weird in places, but I would probably base that on the fact that it was trying at least in part to stay true to the TV series, which I never liked, I personally thought the film actually could of used more comedic bits.

I have not seen Battleship, and might/might not, as MIB III is coming out this week, but I doubt its gotten all the hate its gotten online, heck while its got a negative rating on Rottentomatoes, the movie has like 70 positive reviews so apparently there are some definite things to enjoy in the movie, also it did not deserve the F rating it got here, but hey thats Rob Vaux and hardly anyone here agrees with his reviews.

Basically if critics were honest they would just come out and say they hate the movie because its a film based on  a board game and a lot of them just can't stand that,  plus its a movie obviously made to make money and they hate that as well, thats a primary reason its gotten bashed so much.

Mania Box Office Report: Full of Katniss (Article) - 4/22/2012 8:51:28 PM

Wow looking at the top 10 its  hard to believe that a lot of people are going to the movies, I have not been in three weeks and probably won't go back until The Avengers comes out (HELL YES!), then after that I will probably be going about once a week as Summer Movie Season is upon us.

But Seriously here is how the top ten can be broken down for me:

1- Urban/Ghetto comedy that I have no desire to see (unless Meagan Good was nude or topless)

2- Another Nicholas Sparks chick flick based on another of his hundred books.

3- Over-hyped but decent, although pretty boring book to film adaptation.

4-Something that looks like I could watch it for free on National Geographic.

5-An awful comedy I would not even Redbox accept for the scene with Kate Upton in the Nun-kini

6-Meh I might watch this one eventually, but just because a friend wants to see it.

7-The film that allows a bunch of crappy raunchy movie actors to collect once last check from a franchise few care about anymore.

8-Titanic 3-D, meh if I did not pay to see Phantom Menace in 3-D, I am sure as hell not going to pay $12.00 to see this overly long chick flick in theaters.

9-Douche bag comedy, based on lame TV show, starring two actors (Hill and Tatum) that I cannot stand).

10-If I was wanting to watch the Snow White story, I would just wait until Snow White and The Huntsman come out later this Summer.

8 Crucial Moments of The Hunger Games (Article) - 3/21/2012 3:18:37 PM

Well I usually don't care to much about critic reviews, but the movie has like a 90% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which means yeah it is a good movie.  Also with $100 million budget the film is basically money in the bag due to its popularity alone, heck ticket sales online have supposidley been close to Harry Potter numbers.  As for a sequel, I read online one is supposed to start filming later this year and will probably come out next Summer or Winter.  So yeah since Harry Potter is over and Twilight will be soon, this is going to be the new Epic Book-to-Film craze for the next few years a least.

Also to the writer of the article, there is nothing wrong with Hot Topic, they have some pretty cool stuff, my only complaint is they don't carry that much Anime stuff anymore, but then again nobody does as Cheap Fans, Illegal Downloads, and The Douche Bags who run Adult Swim basically helped kill the Anime industry in the U.S.

Mania Review: Puss in Boots (Article) - 10/28/2011 7:46:15 AM

Well usually I don't care what critics think and I probably won't see this movie in theaters, but seriously the Reviewer for this site obviously lets his emotions get the better of him when reviewing these movies, critics with the attitude of "Oh this idea is not original enough" or "This is a cash Grab..." seriously need to STFU and say whether the film and its content were enjoyable and entertaining.

Puss in Boots has an over 70% approval rating on Rottentomatoes and close to 50 positive reviews as opposed to 14 negative, so apparently the reviewer just does not like the character has an axe to grind whatever, it does not warrant this movie getting a "D" rating.

As for "In Time" some people were saying hey finally a semi original idea, yeah its original to an extent but  thats the thing with movies like "In Time" yeah their original but they just look really stupid, and the film made the mistake of casting Justin Timberlake as the lead, yeah few guys want to see him in an action movie.

Salmon Returns to RE (Article) - 9/13/2011 10:36:16 PM

I have a feeling it will be a flashback sequence, or they could go the whole we cloned our better Umbrella Operatives and infected them with the virus, Salmon could play like Mr. X or something, a mutant bodyguard/thug for the Umbrella company.  If they put him in a bodysuit or Colin Salmon really bulked up and they shaved his head and gave him some sunglasses I could see him being Mr. X, I mean heck he's really the only boss monster they have not used to an extent so far.

In the first the boss was the Licker/Hunter

In the second it was Nemesis

In the third it was a version of the Tyrant

In the fourth it was the Executioner and Wesker

So I could see Mr. X being used in the fifth film.

Biggest Transformers Face Palm Moments (Article) - 6/30/2011 6:54:42 AM

Exactly the twins were stereotypes, they were not rascist.  People who complain about the Twins being insulting stereotypes should go complain about all Tyler Perry's shitty movies before they complain about being stereotyped by Michael Bay,  Perry horribly stereotypes his own ethnicity and they lap it up.

"Seriously, the only reason the NAACP didn’t kick up a greater fuss is because they’re still trying to wrap their heads around the notion that anyone in 21st century America would be stupid enough to greenlight it."

And also if the NAACP had complained about this it would have shown what a sad joke their organization has become, of course you only have to look at people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to see that.

Mania Review: Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Article) - 6/29/2011 5:25:21 AM

Wow this was not a review of the movie at all. Like so many negative reviews on rottentomatoes, this was  just another I hate Michael Bay and the fact that he is successful rant, you know when critics post crap like this is just makes them look like complete pricks.  And whining about military/weaponry porn, good God I am glad the film has that stuff it makes the movie a lot cooler and a much better action film, so reviewers need to grow some balls again apparently instead of whining about it.

God I hope this movie makes a ton of cash for several reasons, one I have liked the series thus far, this new one looks to be amazing especially in 3D and I have been looking forward to it for a while, but lastly when the Transformers movies do really well its almost like pouring salt into an open wound for these critics, they hate Michael Bay so much, some almost seem like they would love to see him get hit by a car or something. So when his movies are actually successful its like spitting in their collective faces, I hope this movie is really successful.

10 Great Movie Entrances (Article) - 5/17/2011 6:06:02 AM

I would say the Tremor Brothers from Smoking Aces, while it was not as big a hit as the other films listed, their appearance in the film where they drive up and take out Aflecks crew is one of the most unexpectedly random and awesome entrances I have seen.  PlusChris Pines interaction with Aflecks corpse right after is flat out hilarious.
