DEATH RACE - Aug 21, 2008 - 10:21am
I do, simply because I don't have that strong of a desire to, plus its more money for me to do whatever I want.
People have actually told me I oughta try and date sometime, but I just tell them I don't want to, I don't want to be in a relationship with anyone. Besides as good as the whole sex thing might be its not worth getting a girl pregnant then getting stuck with her and a kid, and its not worth catching some disease either. Plus even if you sleep with a girl once as a kind of one night stand kind of thing, the girl usually wants some form of relationship afterwards, and its just not my thing.
DEATH RACE - Aug 21, 2008 - 09:51am
"Wow, 7-8 movies for you guys within a few months is sad to you guys?? Sheesh. I'd hate to see how many movies you generally see if they're all to your liking. I might see one movie a month. Maybe, I'll see about 9-10 a year, maybe not even that. Usually people with children, child-care, jobs, and mortgage have other obligations. Peace out dorks."Well you see when you don't get married and don't have kids you easily have more money to do what you want, hence I enjoy going to the movies a lot. And since I don't even date (by choice), I have no wife, and no kids hence I have the money to go the movies a lot. For the record however I do have a job and a car.Although the only movies I pay for to see in theaters are Action/Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Thriller/Horror. Comedies can wait for TV or rental as they are just as funny on DVD or television, theres no need to see them in theaters, and I just flat out say no to Chick Flicks/Drama etc. Here is a list of the films I have seen this year and how many times I saw them in theaters:January 2008One Missed Call (Once)Cloverfield (Twice)Rambo (Once)February 2008Jumper (Once)March 200810,000 B.C. (Once)Shutter (Once)April 2008The Forbidden Kingdom (Once)May 2008Iron Man (Twice)The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian (Once)Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Twice)June 2008The Incredible Hulk (Once)Wanted (Once)WALL-E (Once)July 2008Hancock (Three times, Once with My Mom and Sister, Once with Friends, and Once with my Dad)Hellboy 2 The Golden Army (Once)The Dark Knight (Twice)The X-Files I Want to Believe (Once)August 2008The Mummy Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (Once, I might see this one again)Star Wars the Clone Wars (Once)So all in all I have been to the movies 25 times this year and I have seen 18 different movies.
DEATH RACE - Aug 21, 2008 - 07:46am
I might go see this one later on, I won't see it this weekend since I will probably be going to see Tropic Thunder this weekend.
I figure I will like this movie though, I really liked Andersons Movies that he's either directed or had a hand in: Mortal Kombat (The First One), Event Horizon, Soldier(Even Though it was cheesey as hell), Alien Vs Predator 1 and 2(They both had their good and weak points) and the Resident Evils (I love the Resident Evil Series), so I will probably enjoy this movie as well, but I am not going to rush out and go see it.
Its sad however that the only movies left that I will probably see in theaters over the next few months are as follows:
August:
Tropic Thunder (Definitely)
Death Race (Probably)
Bablyon AD (Definitely)
September:
Bangkok Dangerous (Maybe)
Eagle Eye (Probably)
October:
Qurantine (Maybe)
Max Payne (Maybe)
November:
Was looking forward to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince but we all know what happened there, it got dumped and some stupid teen angst Vampire flick got put in its place. (Thanks Warner Bros)
Maybe Quantam of Solace or Bolt but thats it.
December:
?????????
Boxoffice Mojo doesn't even have the December movies release dates up anymore.
.........................................................................................
You can definitely tell that once August ends the big movie going season is dead for 2008, as this years Fall/Winter films (Save for a handful) pretty much suck more or less.
New Trailer for Jane's MUTANT CHRONICLES - Jul 03, 2008 - 09:03am
While the premise is cool I will be honest this film will be lucky to get a theatrical release, as cool as the premise is it looks really low budget, and used a lot of low budget actors, I mean Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman are not really A-list (I like both actors but lets face it they are B-movie actors), and this looks like a low budget B-movie that could either be good or bad, I mean if it comes out in theaters I might see it but if its released on DVD I will definitely rent it, so I'll definitely see the film.
Also with the alternate history, which really resembles WWII, and the monster threat that unites enemies storyline I'm suprised these people haven't been sued by the makers of Resistance: The Fall of Man for the PS3, I mean there are more than a few similarities to that game here.
New Sneak Peek for CLONE WARS at Celebration Japan - Jul 01, 2008 - 07:07pm
There's a reason really why Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christiensen (I know its mispelled) probably aren't returning, two words TYPE-CASTING, with the exception of Harrison Ford it happened to most of the original Star Wars cast, I mean Hammill and Fisher will be remembered for being Luke and Leia more than anything even though they've done other work.
Old Anakin and Obi-Wan basically got their popularity boosted by starring in the three Prequel films, and now everyone knows who they are, but the Prequel Trilogy ended and now they want to move on to escape being Type-casted into those roles forever.
On the other hand Samuel L. Jackson and Chrisopher Lee were icons before the Star Wars Prequels, so they are probably just reprising their roles for fun and a paycheck, but they will never be typecasted into those characters as they were Secondary Characters (Mace Windu and the Count) anyway, and the actors had flourishing careers before Star Wars.
Mumbling Kitsune: Goodbye, Inuyasha (It's About Time) - Jun 16, 2008 - 12:17pm
"558? I thought there was 167 episodes all together?"There were 558 manga chapters and 167 television episodes, this article however is like so many others pretty pointless, did Inuyasha run a little to long yes, but was it a bad show no in fact it was pretty enjoyable if not repetitive, the Band of Seven story Arc was freakin awesome (that was in season 5) and it was after that season that they should have ended the show as episodes 130-167 were not anything special. The first five seasons of Inuyasha were pretty enjoyable for the most part.If the writer of the article wanted to talk about overly long shows he should have gone ahead and mentioned the following:Pokemon- 276 episodes, then its had sequel shows that have all been like 100 episodes, plus countless movies and tv specials.Detective Conan- The show that ran for like 50 episodes before being canned on Adultswim ran for over 500 in Japan, plus like Pokemon had a lot of OVAs, movies, etc.The Dragon Ball Saga- 3 shows making around 500 episodes plus around 30 or more movies. One Piece- Is still on and running at 362 episodes and like 8 movies or something. The Gundam Saga- While not all related the Gundam shows add up to probably 600 episodes if not more.I am not complaining about these shows just that Inuyasha is hardly the only show to run way past its course.
TRANSFORMERS 2 Has a New Title & Set Details - Jun 05, 2008 - 08:45pm
Awesome this is sounding like an Empire Strikes Back kind of film where the Decepticons come back to Earth in Full Force, (The Constructicons are a sure thing and I bet some other big names get tossed into the fray), this is one I will be buying tickets to next Summer for sure.
Bruce Willis Leading Game Adaptation of KANE - Jun 04, 2008 - 07:27am
I like the idea of Willis playing Kane I mean he can definitely pull off a bad ass, as for Lynch if they want to go for someone who could easily be made to look like the character they ought to have Paul Giamatti (sp?) play Lynch.
Box Office: INDY Cuts into CITY Victory - Jun 01, 2008 - 04:19pm
"How about IronMan, beating out the Prince even though it's been out longer. The surprise mega-hit of the year so far.
Indy, I'm sure will surpass IM within 2-3 weeks. Paramount execs. must be dancing on their desks."
Yeah I agree this must be pleasing news for Paramount who is really starting to corner the Summer Market Blockbuster wise, I mean last year it was Transformers (Which Spielberg Produced and was a huge hit), now Iron Man and Indiana Jones 4 are huge successes, and next Summer it will be the eagerly anticipated Transformers 2.
Iron Scribes Penning HIGHLANDER Remake - May 20, 2008 - 05:10pm
This is good news, I mean as much as I liked the first film it is pretty 1980's and some of the budget constraints were pretty obvious, but given the effects/CGI, access to locations, budgets, etc. this remake could be pretty epic.
As far as a new franchise goes however, either make it a solo film that wraps itself up (like the first film was meant to do), or make it something like a trilogy with a continuing and sustainable continuity, but tread carefully because my God the sequels to the first killed this Franchise.
Columbia Gets GOOSEBUMPS - May 15, 2008 - 09:41am
While I think this is cool news as most of the books were pretty good a couple were kind of lame, and there were a few sequels that well weren't really needed I guess but the book series overall was excellent especially for kids I too read them Elementary and gave them up at sometime in Middle School, the scariest of the series to me was always Welcome to Dead House, which ironically was the first.
Ewan McGregor Helping Hank's DEMONS - Apr 25, 2008 - 12:25am
So Old Man Kenobi and Forest Gump are teaming up in this movie, thats awesome!
In all seriousness though that is good news as I loved the The Da Vinci Code, and thought Hanks did a great job with the character.
The inlusion of McGregor is just cool, and lets face it the poor guy needs a hit film, and the upcoming Deception probably is not going to be it. I will definitely be seeing this one next Summer.
Last Poster for IRON MAN - Mar 07, 2008 - 07:43am
Is it just me or does Jeff Bridges look like a bald headed Whistler (from the Blade movies) on that poster, I think he really does with the scruffy beard, he must be channeling his inner Kris Kristofersen.
10,000 B.C - Mar 06, 2008 - 07:22am
Well I've wanted to see this for a while, and I still think it looks good, so I and I'd assume a lot of other people will be seeing this, this weekend.
DRAGONBALL Pushed to April 2009 - Mar 05, 2008 - 05:17am
I care as well as I will definitely see this film in theaters as well as probably buy the DVD, I mean the movie sounds like if nothing else it will be a fun CGI laden beatem up movie, which essentially thats all DB and DBZ were anyway, really dumb fun shows where you watch to characters beat the hell out each other for 20 or so episodes.
That said I kind of felt like this would be pushed back since they were still casting people in late January and early February I kind of felt like there was no way the film would be done by August 1 of this year.
Also its probably a smart move to change the films date as the film would face some heavy competition in August with new films being released and the Blockbuster holdovers staying strong.
GOTHAM KNIGHT DVD Details Online - Feb 25, 2008 - 02:29pm
Man I am looking foward to this, and I will definitely be picking it up, its essentially a tie in with the new Batman movie, kind of like the Animatrix was for the Matix movies, and the Animatrix was pretty awesome.
I'm a huge Anime fan and all I can say is this will definitely be on my Buy List.
Columbia Has Successful POINT In Theaters - Feb 24, 2008 - 04:58pm
I saw Jumper this weekend and really enjoyed it, I mean my main problem was that everything was not explained enough and the film was to short, if it had been longer they could have explained some aspects better, but overall I really enjoyed it, I'd give it a solid B rating because it was a cool premise, had pretty good acting, and was a lot of fun to watch.
Agent Zero & Barnell Revealed for WOLVERINE - Feb 22, 2008 - 09:14am
Sweet news that Agent Zero is going to in this movie, because for those who don't know Agent Zero's other Code Name is Maverick, a long time member of Weapon X and ally of Wolverine.
It looks like they are going all out with the Weapon X in this film:
Wolverine
Silverfox
Agent Zero/Maverick
Sabertooth
Deadpool
John Wraith (he's a mutant in Weapon X who can teleport)
Plus there will be appearances from various other mutants in the Marvel Universe as well, man I get more excited about this film with each update.
STAN HELSING Spoofing Monster Flicks - Feb 10, 2008 - 11:53am
Hey I'm not gonna bash it yet, if done right (which it probably won't be) it could be pretty funny.
The synopsis gives the film a very Monster Squad feel, you know Random Joe (This time its Stan Helsing) has to battle copies of the Universal Studios Monsters who show up in his small town for some reason.
The Question I have is 6 monsters, I mean I know its probably going to be Dracula, The Wolfman, Frankensteins Monster, The Creature From the Black Lagoon, and The Mummy, but thats only 5, who the heck is number 6 The Invisible Man Maybe?
First Trailer for M.Night's HAPPENING - Feb 04, 2008 - 11:00pm
Well the guys three wins, two losses for me, I loved the Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs, but I really did not like The Village and no one I talked to really had anything good to say about Lady in the Water so I never saw it.
THE EYE - Feb 01, 2008 - 04:11pm
Wow, all I can say is that this film while a remake looks better in just about every way than the original, the original was not even remotely scary, and the whole thing (I don't know what kind of film they used) looked like a student film, I mean low budget is one thing but the original Eye just looked really lousy.
I probably won't rush out and see this but I will see it eventually, but at least it looks pretty good and creepy, which is a far step above the original.
CLOVERFIELD Monster Attacks January Records - Jan 20, 2008 - 12:35pm
Thats great for Cloverfield it was an awesome film, and I plan on seeing it again tommorrow. With a budget of $25 million and a $41 million opening 3 days plus very positive word of mouth this film should do very well in the U.S. and internationally.
On a seperate note as I check boxoffice numbers Uwe Boll's newest pathetic joke Dungeon Siege, dropped to #23 this weekend only making $735,000 for the whole weekend bringing his $60 million+ production to a laughable $4.3 million so far.
Just thought that bit of news should make the other Boll haters like myself happy.
Top Performers for 2007 & A Look at 2008 - Jan 02, 2008 - 08:59am
Well here are the movies that I saw in theaters on that list and loved:
Spider-Man 3 (saw it multiple times)
Transformers (saw it multiple times)
POTC: At World’s End (saw it mutiple times)
Order of the Phoenix (saw it multiple times)
300 (saw it multiple times)
I Am Legend
National Treasure: Book of Secrets
Live Free or Die Hard
Other films I saw this year that were not on the list, but I still saw and liked a lot:
Resident Evil Extinction (saw it multiple times)
30 days of Night (saw it multiple times)
Beowulf
The Golden Compass
AVPR
Movies that were kind of dissapointing:
Fantatistic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer
Rush Hour 3
Balls of Fury
2007 Films I just had no interest in seeing on the listin theaters that I might watch on DVD
Bourne Ultimatum
Ratatouille
The Simpsons Movie
Wild Hogs
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
Blades of Glory
Enchanted
The Game Plan
American Gangster
Disney's Stockings Stuffed with TREASURE - Dec 31, 2007 - 06:47pm
Well Wikepedia, which as far a I know is the only site to have listed the budget for AVP Requiem so far listed it at between $40-$45 million so I assume thats what it is, which means yeah this film will be pretty successful.
Disney's Stockings Stuffed with TREASURE - Dec 30, 2007 - 09:17pm
Dang I have fallen behind on my movie watching, the last I saw was I Am Legend, that one was awesome, the next I plan to see are National Treasure 2 (might be seeing that one this week) and AVP R and One Missed Call, I will probably see them this coming weekend.
For the record Aliens Vs Predator Requiem's budget was around $40 miillion, so an almost $27 million opening is not bad, and according to Variety it made about $16 million more internationally so its already made $43 million worldwide so far.
RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION - Sep 22, 2007 - 09:53am
I agree with the review, the Resident Evil films have all been fun action/suspense shootem ups, and I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them.
The poster above me is just another game purist who obviously just cannot get past himself to enjoy the fun films.
Garofalo Investigates on 24 - Aug 21, 2007 - 09:42am
Oh well she will probably only be in certain episodes and might eventually be killed off so I really don't care. I have never liked Garafalo except for her role in Mystery Men but that was before she became so obnoxious. Her career now is pretty much dead anyway so I bet she is just glad to find work.
TRANSFORMERS Break China Records - Jul 15, 2007 - 08:55pm
"I wonder if they got an unedited version of the film."
Another sad aspect for people who live in China, the films that get shown are often times edited, some times to much. The Chinese Government can order films altered if they think they negatively portray China.
Case in point Pirates of the Carribean: At Worlds End, supposidely in the Chinese version of the film Chow Yun-Fats part was completely cut.
TRANSFORMERS Break China Records - Jul 15, 2007 - 01:42pm
"I understand why, but doesn't that just crack you up that 2.95 million is the largest american opening in China, a country of over a billion people."
Well China does have a lot of poor people living in it, I mean the highest a movie has ever grossed in China is like $50 million, and thats their highest grossing movie, its really sad in a way.
Plus China only allows certain movies to be shown in theaters for a limited amount of time, as well as limiting the number of foreign films that can be shown in the country yearly.
In closing living in China probably sucks for most movie lovers, you can't afford to go to the movies, then your government regulates which ones you can see and how long they are allowed in theaters.
DEATH SENTENCE Trailer - Jul 13, 2007 - 08:34am
A lot of this movie was shot in Columbia, South Carolina, where I went to college, I tried to get a part as an extra but sadly it didn't happen. Since it was shot in a city I that I lived in, (I just live an hour from Columbia now) I still might go see the movie.
RATATOUILLE Has Early Lead - Jul 01, 2007 - 10:33am
Well Sicko is going to wind up underperforming compared to predictions, it was expected to make around $7-$10 million over the weekend, but it only made $1.3 million on Friday meaning it will only make around $4 million. Plus it also came in 9th place in the top 10 meaning it is going to get pushed out of the top 10 by this time next week.
Personally I could not be happier since I cannot stand Michael Moore, and this will show F9/11 for the fluke that it was.
FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER - Jun 15, 2007 - 02:01am
I am looking forward to this one, sure trolls on the internet have relentlessly bashed it and so have a lot of critics, but I have never really cared about what they thought, and liked the first film. Given I never bought the first film which turned out to be good thing now that there is an extended cut (I will buy that one), but I will definitely see FF2RSS within the next week.
Hell Hath No Fury - Jun 07, 2007 - 10:52pm
Wow comic book chicks are hot, nothing new there, they are drawn the way people love them unrealistic but fantastic none the less.
The covers look great and the fact that abunch of Feminists are upset about it just makes me want to buy the issues even morem and I just might.
Weekend Box Office Report: Got Grudge? - Oct 16, 2006 - 07:59am
Loved The Grudge 2, it was good creepy fun just like the first, I will definitely be going to see it again in theaters.
As for the rest of the top 10:
The Departed-Have no desire to see this, looks like a cop/crime drama a genre which I find boring as hell.
Man of the Year- Looks really dumb.
Open Season- Wait for DVD.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre- Wait for DVD.
The Marine- Looks horrible.
The rest of the top 10 does not really interest me that much either, so The Grudge 2 is the film I will be seeing again.
PREDATOR's to get a new film? - Sep 28, 2006 - 09:29am
The new film should be set in the Middle East, no I'm not trying to be political, it just makes sense. I mean its hot there Predators like it hot, and plus its extremely violent.
Plus the Predator could just about kill anyone there because due to fanatical beliefs, even women and children are sometimes armed.
Anyone in the Middle East is fair game.
Ellen DeGeneres to host 79th Annual Academy Awards - Sep 08, 2006 - 10:56am
Well guess I know what I will be watching on Oscar night... anything but the Oscars looks like they are gonna suck and their viewership is going down again this year.
Plus like last year, no films I honestly give a crap about will be nominated for anything big.
Kasch and Roemer join ASYLUM - Sep 05, 2006 - 01:28pm
Awesome, this fim is filming about 30 minutes from where I live. Most of it is being shot in Rock Hill, S.C. on the Winthrop College Campus, I went to an extras casting call last weekend, I hope I get chosen to be an extra.
TRANSFORMERS robots are revealed! - Aug 19, 2006 - 02:06pm
Umm... there were not any differences in Rumble or Frenzy other than color, at least I do not think there were. If I am remembering right the only difference was that one was red and the other was purple.
I believe they were both Soundwave Cassettes.
Soundwaves tapes were:
Rumble
Frenzy
Ravage
Ratbat
Lazerbeak
ZOOM - Aug 15, 2006 - 12:04pm
Okay so this crappy flop gets a B- while Pulse gets a D+, what a load of crap. I think the grades must have been backwards because pulse deserves a least a C+ rating.
PULSE - Aug 14, 2006 - 03:40pm
This review is crap, no way does this movie deserve a D+, more like a B- or a C. The only movies that deserve D and F's are straight to video crap and Uwe Boll films. This film was a fun creepy movie with a cool premise, and I am definitely going to buy it when it comes out on DVD. Oh and there is nothing wrong with PG-13 horror given that a lot of the rated R horror movies have sucked.
Tarantino to make more KILL BILL? - Jul 23, 2006 - 09:04am
I think the anime prequels sound cool, I'm a big anime fan. Although shouldn't it be Bill and his henchmen, instead of "Bill and his mentors." I mean a anime with an animated Caradine, Fox, Lui, Hannah, Masden, and the Bride and their previous jobs as assasins would be cooler than a background story for Bill.
Also Tarantino should just do Kill Bill 3 now, and cast an older actress to play Copperheads daughter. Waiting 15-20 years to film a sequel, just so some kid actor who played a small part in the first film can play the same character over again is kinda dumb. I mean what if the kid is not even interested in doing the film in 15-20 years, if that is the case that would kill Tarantinos hopes for a Kill Bill 3.
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST - Jul 08, 2006 - 09:47am
If there is any film that should have gotten a B+ on this site it is this one. Very fun and enjoyable, I will probably wind up seeing it 3 to 4 times in theaters. On a side note I have not seen Superman Returns once and I don't know if I will, it ust does not look that interesting.
Dave Meyers knows WITCH HUNTERS - Jun 20, 2006 - 09:55am
Is this film going to be related to the Witch Hunter Robin anime. I know they were talking about doing a live action film based on the Anime, could this be it.
THE OMEN - Jun 07, 2006 - 08:31pm
A C+ out of all the movies that have gotten B's on this site this one deserves one as well. It was a good, fun, spooky, film. I've told everyone who asked me about it that it was good, I really enjoyed it and I will buy it on DVD.
HOUSE OF THE DEAD II - Apr 02, 2006 - 09:00am
A B+, what these reviewers smoking. This movie was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I give it a double F minus.
I have never seen the original House of the Dead because I heard it was so god awful, but I will say this, at least it got released in theaters, which is more than I can say for the sequel.
PS3 Delay? - Feb 21, 2006 - 10:46am
I plan on preordering a PS3 once a definite release date is confirmed, I just hope it isn't more than $300-$400, because if it is more than that I doubt they will sale as well as Sony is hoping.
I also plan on buying an X-Box 360 eventually.
The key reason I want a PS3 is that I will be able to buy really good PS2 games (Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, FFX, FFX-2, Disgea, and a plethora of other RPGs)
I love RPGs and Anime RPG's.
And The Razzies Nominees Are... - Feb 01, 2006 - 04:42pm
I agree with most of those choices, although I disagree with Doom, War of the Worlds, and Star Wars Episode III being on the list, but everything on there deserves to be. Also Dukes of Hazzard doesn't need to be on the list, it was stupid but it was a stupid kind of funny.
I plan on buying Doom next week, because although it wasn't a perfect film, it was enjoyable.
The Passing of the Netlets - Jan 30, 2006 - 01:52pm
Well I'm not suprised about the merger, I mean lets face it UPN has been dead for a while now, they just hadn't buried it yet.
I mean while it wasn't the most popular Star Trek show, Enterprises cancellation gave very few of UPNs remaining viewers a reason to tune in.
Secondly, the only shows the WB I honestly tried to keep up with were Angel and Smallville. Then Angel got cancelled, (I'm glad Boreanaz got a new show however, Bones is pretty good) and I've missed so many episodes of Smallville, that I really haven't tried to get back into it.
And I am kinda pissed about the WB cancelling their cartoons in the afternoons, for old ER episodes and The Show About Dating Some Guys Teenage Daughter. (I don't care about the Guys Teenage Daughter)
I miss my horribly dubbed Pokemon and the new God Awful Transformer episodes (The real Optimus is spinning in his grave I tell ya...) Those shows are bad but at least they are fun to watch.
I also miss Xiaolin Showdown, that show was goofy but fun.
Lillard Looks for Gold in 13 GRAVES - Jan 30, 2006 - 01:30pm
Heh...Its funny when I read the title for this show I couldn't help but think that it was a prequel to the movie Thirteen Ghosts. The title Thirteen Graves would be a one for a prequel to the movie, because the show could be centered around the Psychic Lillard and evil F. Murray Abraham trying to find the locations of the Evil Thirteen Ghosts, so that they could be captured and power Abrahams Key to Hell.
