Alan Moore is a very good writer. But a genius? Stephen Hawking is a genius. Alan Moore writes comic books.

A bit late for the discussion, but I couldn't resist. Thank you ntnon and lucidfrenzy for your insights and simply for being adults.

To Cheesy and the rest of the little rascals , here is a quote from book 6 of Watchmen which you can try to wrap your little brains around. " Why do we argue? Life's so fragile, a successful virus clinging to a speck of mud,  suspended in endless nothing."

By the way dooooooooomster, Moore doesn't write comic books, he creates realities. This reality based on personal gain, apathy, and irresponsibility is headed towards it's apex. This madness, which is mistakenly called progress, is at the core of the plot to Watchmen. A genius, Adrian Veidt, figures out how to alter the future of his world. On a dead world, the accumulated accomplishments of every genius will mean nothing. Moore sees this with terrifying clarity.
