Gordon-Levitt for Sin City 2

No Godzilla or Guardians

It has been officially announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will join Robert Rodriguez's Sin City sequel A Dame to Kill For. He's taking the role of Johnny, a part first offered to Johnny Depp.

Frank Miller told MTV that Sin City number two is primarily an adaptation of the book ‘A Dame to Kill For’. It also features the short story, ‘Just Another Saturday Night’ and two new stories. One involving Jessica Alba’s character, Nancy Callahan, that I came up with for the movie in order to tie things together and make it be more united with the first.”

Here is the official synopsis for A Dam to Kill For: “Enter Dwight McCarthy, a clean-living photographer who tries to avoid trouble because he knows what he’s capable of. His tactics don’t do him much good when a girl from his past (who he can’t say no to) shows up and professes her love for him. When he finds out she’s in way over her head, it looks as though trouble has found him. What’s going to happen? You guessed it: people get hurt”.

I know this is fickle, but it's been so long since the first Sin City, I'm not sure I even care anymore.  Joseph Godon Levitt can only help, I'm sure, but seriously...so many promises and false starts...not sure I give a crap.  Better make a great preview.

I do not know, the original caught me by surprise in a good way, so despite the delay, I am looking forward to this one. I am trying not to hold a grudge against JGL for The Dark Knight Rises, but that was not his fault..

I'm a fan so I'll check it out for sure JGL or no JGL. But yeah the false starts and stops may have hurt this, we'll see

I actually believe and I said this when the sequel was  first announced that the novelty that helped made the original a hit may have worn off by now.

Gordon is on the bubble for me being a douche bag actor.  I wonder if he is in Gi Joe again as a dissappointing Cobra Commander?  Hope it's a recast.

I did like that bike messenger movie he did, and he did a solid job in Batman but he should not take over Batman movies.

I think he will do alright in Sin City.

I enjoyed the first for its innovation of style and being an exact copy of a graphic novel to screen. However, I never found it emotionally involving and have only seen it a couple more times on cable because it just felt like a novelty. I've never been enthused for a sequel and probably won't see it 'til it hits cable unless somebody really wants to go.

For the record JGL is not in GI JOE 2 . The Cobra Commander in this one actually looks like Cobra Commander now.

How is JGL a douchebag actor to you now or on the bubble of being one? It's insane people say stuff like this without anything to back it up - especially if they don't even know said person and said person is hardly in the spotlight to even make that determination.

lazarus 1/8/2013 11:35:19 AM

COBRAAAAAAAAA cough cough cough.

@Mr.JBE, yup thats people for ya,  most actors get shitty role after role and many people think they are the best thing that ever happend on the movie screen. pesronaly i think hes a real good actor. then again some people love twilight movies and some don't..what does twilight have to do with this have no clue just couldent think of a worse example of bad acting and pleanty there to pick from , anyway JGL, is cool in my book..

Every time I see JGL in a movie, I can't help but think of that little kid from 3rd Rock From the Sun.  I liked him then, I like him now.  Guess not every child star goes off the deep end.

Damn, I just jinxed him, didn't I?
