RIDDICK: Official TV Spot #1

By Robert T. Trate     July 04, 2013

Here is the first official TV Spot for Riddick. A bit strange that they are hyping the movie with TV Spots already. Usually they arrive a few weeks before the film comes out. Riddick is sill months away.
The Plot: The latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000′s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004′s The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.

The infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.

Riddick features Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff and Dave Bautista.

Riddick arrives September 6th, 2013.

CoR was unexpectantly good. I really enjoyed it and was surprised at how good it was considering the reviews. It had a very unique take on sci fi, akin to the Dune movie from the 80's. Kind of sounds like they're veering away from that story and are trying to return more to the Pitch Black kind of story. Maybe a bit of both?

Haters will hate. Riddick FTW. Both previous movies were seriously awesome for Sci-Fi freaks like me. Black was better than Chronicles but both were great movies. This movie looks bad ass.

PB caught me by surprise. Sunday night was X-files night here in Portugal back in the day. When the X-Files season ended, they started showing sci-fi movies on sunday nights. Boy, were some of them real pieces of shtako! But one day, as I was preparing to switch off the TV, this movie started about a space ship crash landing on a planet of eternal suns... and I was glued to the end! For years there was no PB on DVD here in Portugal; the first appeared with CoR. Which was not PB, but was nonetheless memorable! (Besides, PB has not-so-great actors and actings, but... meh!)

Now, I am also a Borderlands game fan! And this Riddick III looks like it is based on the Borderlands game. And that, my friends, is friddicking awesome! If they can pull it off like Resident Evil (the first successful movie using PC-game logic), or even World War Z (the similarities with the game Left4Dead were obvious), not like (blergh!) Doom!

Oh man, this is looking cooler by the second.

I liked them both.  I just hope this isn't too much like the first one.  It was a great movie, but so was Hangover and I hated that they just remade that one for the second Hangover.

People complainted that the second film wasn't like the first , now the third is somewhat like the first an they still complain . This is a good series .

Looking forward to this more and more. Love what I'm seeing and I dug both of the 2 previous films so no complaints here

This is a good series and I will enjoy the hell out of watching this third installment...
