Alien Rock

Michael C. Luckman is an interesting character. Not only does he write books, but he also organizes and promotes concerts and events connected with UFOs. Luckman is founder of the Cosmic Majority and taught the nation's first college-level course on rock music and youth culture at New York's School for Social Research in 1971.
In Alien Rock, Luckman draws on personal interviews and second-hand stories from rock stars and some of their friends to conclude that there is a "musically driven cosmic connection."
One interesting story is told by Taharqa and Tunde-ra Aleem, two former roommates of Jimi Hendrix, who claim that "Jimi was able to make visible musical entities from the ethereal world of sound, and on many occasions he actually performed that for us."
Luckman also recounts various abduction episodes in the lives of famous rock stars and the powerful influence that aliens and UFO's had on their music. As an example, Luckman states that Carlos Santana had a cosmic companion named Metatron that guided him through the recording of his Grammy winning CD Supernatural. Luckman also goes into detail about John Lennon's UFO sighting, and Elvis's claim to being from the Blue Star Planet and to having had close encounters with aliens when he was a child.
Alien Rock is an entertaining read that certainly makes you wonder, but it also draws some conclusions that are loose and unwarranted. The fact that NASA often uses rock music as a wake up call for the space station and shuttle crews, in my opinion, does not prove the validity of a cosmic connection. Sometimes people just like rock music.
