Date: Wednesday, December 18, 2002

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER notes that SPINAL TAP, among other films, has been added to the National Film Registry, a 350-film archive of features deemed worthy of special notice and preservation at the Library of Congress. Also inducted was Ridley Scott's classic space chiller, ALIEN.

The sci fi thriller and Rob Reiner's mock-rockumentary joins the company of ENDLESS SUMMER, BOYZ N THE HOOD, and 23 other films.
