The Review!
3 out of 5
Music found in the OVA series Cat-Girl Nuku Nuku.

This CD comes with a six-page insert. The first page is a song list. The next two pages contain the English lyrics to the vocal songs. Up next on the following page is a paragraph by Hiroshi Matsuda about Nuku music. The next page is a staff list for the CD as well as the OVA. And finally on the last page is another paragraph from Matsuda, this one about the OVA series itself.

The musical selections in this one are, in a word, sweet. The instrumental numbers are very sugary, and put one in the mind of the type of music that would be playing in the background to help a small child fall asleep. That?s not to say that the melodies are not pleasing, it?s just very cutesy and can occasionally get on ones nerves. A few cutesy songs here and there are fine, but this one goes a little overboard with the sugar. It is entirely filled with the bubbly type of music that would maker even a child cringe. However, on the same hand it is also a real mood lifter. The music, though sugary and sweet, does have that ability to bring whatever mood you have at the time of listening into that happy and excited range. The same songs that can be annoying to hear over and over again in your head, can also lift the spirits and make you want to just sing out your joy. A real odd mix.

I?d have to say happy, bubbly, downright annoying, and yet good.

Fangboy says?I loved it, I hated it, I just wanted to keep listening.
