All signs point to INDY 4 ... again
By: Eric MoroDate: Monday, June 18, 2001
With A.I. in theaters on June 29, 2001 and MINORITY REPORT set to wrap within the next few weeks, what's next for the popular production team of Steven Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy and Bonnie Curtis? For Kennedy, at least, it won't be the long rumored MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA.
"We're going to do SIGNS," says Kennedy of her next project. "It's M. Night Shyamalan's next movie, which is going to start in September, and is [going to star] Mel Gibson."
Where that puts the aforementioned project in Kennedy's schedule and whether the director is going to tackle the project on his own with Curtis remains unclear. However, neither of Spielberg's producers rule out the possibility of another Indiana Jones film.
"I just have to tell you, I wish there was a script and everybody could get excited that we're about to shoot the fourth Indiana Jones, but we don't have a script," says Kennedy. "It could happen. Everybody would like to see it happen, but until there's a script that everybody's happy with it won't happen."
Curtis seconds the motion, keeping her fingers crossed in the hopes that development on such a project will begin shortly.
