Amanda Tapping joins "Stargate Atlantis"

According to Sci Fi, Amanda Tapping has signed on to join the cast of the Stargate spin off, Stargate Atlantis.  Tapping previously played in the show Stargate SG-1.

Tapping will reprise her role as Lt. Col. Samantha Carter in Atlantis.  She played the character in all 10 seasons of SG-1, which goes off the air after completing the final 10 episodes of the current season.

Atlantis is now entering it's fourth season and Tapping will appear in 14 of the 20 ordered episodes.

The final episodes of Stargate SG-1 and the remainder of the third season of Stargate Atlantis will air starting April 13.


KJ's take:  This series spins off so much it gets me dizzy.  At least they manage to keep the quality up as they go.  Good to see her signing on ... on a side note, am I the only one who finds her pretty damn attractive despite her age?
