The Review!
After gracing the shelves back in 2000, Nanako the Amazing Nurse is back to bring delight or horror into fans eyes with those massive mammaries of hers.

Entitled “Nanako’s Secret Collection”, this is the kind of box set I’ve seen done on a very small number of Japanese sets and wish it was done here. Nanako is just such a series to be able to pull it off as well. Literally. The box comes with a plastic wraparound slipcover that’s clear and you slide it either to the top or bottom. On the front side, you have Nanako in her battle gear. On the back side, you have Nanako in her maid outfit. The box side has her in the maid outfit as well.

Oh my! Slide the slipcover off and you get the box itself. The same type of images are there, but she’s a lot less clothed. The battle armor picture has some skimpy pieces left on her while the maid side of the outfit reveals her to just be wearing her bra and panties as well as the stockings. I admit it full out – I love it. It’s so perfect for this series that it just makes me laugh with a big ass grin. Marketing at its best.

The box interior itself provides three black and white rough images of Nanako of differing quality. The battle armor image from the slipcover is provided on one side of a mini poster while the reverse side of it has the less-clothed version from the box itself.

But that’s not all! Just to make sure to squeeze every beautiful last ounce of fan service out of this set, there’s a 25 page “Nanako’s Secret Collection” Spring 2003 “catalog”. This catalog shows off in full color images across all 25 pages what I’m guessing are all her outfits from the show, price included. This booklet is truly the capping stone of the collection and it’s just so right. Of course, being the conscious people that they are at Pioneer, they did include on the back of the catalog in small print that “items in this booklet can not be purchased”. Thank heavens for cosplayers.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
For the purpose of the content review, all of the discs three volumes are presented in individual keepcases just as they were during the original release. The previous reviews we had done remain valid, though any pack-in extras we may have commented on (such as standee’s and the like) are not included in these keepcases. All the pack-in extras for this set are included in our packaging review above.

I have to admit, this is a masterful piece of marketing and probably hitting just at the right time to get a whole new wave of unknowing fans to check out the series. The price is definitely right, the discs look great and this box set is just screaming perfection for being in tune with the show. I only wish we had liked the show itself a lot more.
