Sony really does have some sense, spider-sense that is. Sony Pictures has figured out that a tease of their Super Bowl spot for the Amazing Spider-Man 2 is better than giving it all away for free online. At least this way they can build up some anticipation. Check out this first part of the 40 second spot for the Super Bowl spot/ trailer that will air on February 2nd.

The Plot: In the 2014 sequel, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away – but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Sally Field and Chris Cooper.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arrives May 2nd, 2014.

C'mon Disney, buy him!

I think Sony has been fairly respectful of Spidey so I don't have a problem with them for the most part. It would be nice if they could cross over with the MCU

Unlike what someone wrote around here, can't remember who, I'm looking forward to this more than X-Men

^^^ def looking forward to this more than least we know Spidey has the potential to be successful unlike Singers upcoming crap fest

The only thing that made the first ASM dull was the fact that we had seen the origin story before, but now I feel that we're finally moving forward with an untold adaptation.

Goblin costume is dooty once again !.

Agree. Origin story didn't have to be retold since everyone knows it but I think they had to retell it if they were going on the mech webshooters. I still liked the way Incredible Hulk retold the origin in the opening credits.

@Wiseguy, I think the odds of Spidey crossing over with MCU is much better than the Fox properties. They almost used Oscorp in Avengers and Spidey almost had Stark tower. Sony and Disney have a closer working relationship (also on the Spidey business side) so it's not impossible. Plus Andrew Garfield was all over the idea. So he's game.

There is a great article in Forbes magazine from last summer named "Why Spidey may soon be heading to the Avengers movies"

It breaks down some great points.  Which is why I saw it's not impossible.

I could see this negotiated after MOS 2 comes out. If the All-Star DC movie proves to be a huge monster, then Marvel will want their all-stars as well to one-up DC.

Wiseguy 1/31/2014 7:53:08 AM

That would be awesome. They need to feature a Spidey vs Hulk sequence, that would blow my mind
