I know they're trying to fully utilize the 3D/D-Box technology in theatres nowadays but seriously? First person web slinging? the film better not be like that or ill be severely pissed.

Uh-oh, this isn't looking that great. I actually like the casting of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. But what's the deal with Peter's parents? Have I been out of the comic loop lately. I don't want to see some new plot revisionist stuff with the parents. I have a feeling Columbia Pictures is about to screw this franchise up. Marvel/Disney, PLEASE, for the love of God, buy the rights back to Spider-man and the rest of the Marvel Universe. I don't trust the other studios anymore.

I think it looks pretty good. mixed feelings about the first person thing, but in 3d on IMAX, it'd probably be pretty fantastic. It looks like a more serious film in tone. I enjoyed the first two reimi films but didnt see the 3rd in the cinema as I thought it looked crap and I switched it off on DVD, it just wasnt for me. I think what you see of the costume looks good and I think the  the acting looks a bit more grounded in the real world like the Nolan batman films rather than the cheesy comicy feel of the reimi films and I think thats a good thing as these films seem to work better when not trying to recreate the medium of comics but try to take the good storytelling elements of the tales and bring them to life using the language of cinematography, editing and human acting.

i think it looks pretty good.  im digging the music and serious tone of the trailer. 1st person view should be pretty sweet at the theatres, like a disney world ride or something along those.    my fave trailer of the 3 recently released superhero ones.  cant wait to see more.

What the F? The franchise was altogether a success aside from SPDMN3, and I know that they're trying to seduce a younger crowd with the reboot. Up until there, I'm in, I like Garfield and the overal tone and look of the trailer. BUT what is that 1st person so fake-looking web slinging! They even got the building look fake, I mean WOW! It's like we're back 10-12years in special effect. Now I know that this is a teaser, but I was up until now expecting a teaser/trailer, now I'm just scared of the full trailer and of the movie altogether. It feels like they're on a path to screw this up real bad, and now I understand a little better Raimi bailing out if the conditions of the movie implied some crappy/goofy-looking videogame-like passages that will KILL the film

drumshine, it was long established in Marvel history that Parker's parents were actually CIA (or SHIELD, not sure which) operatives who were killed tracking the second Red Skull (a communist imposter, not the Nazi original).  It's somewhat interesting that they're adding a bit of that to the movies.  Less interesting is that they're doing the whole Spiderman origin part again.  Like who doesn't know about the radioactive spider?  Forget the origin part and add more primary story.

Spiderman 2 was for me a perfect film. Guess what...no orgin story.

If the orgin is only a 5 minute recap I'd be okay, but no they have to redo the whole thing? Lame.

I liked it and I am now MORE interested in seeing what is coming next.  The first person shot was cool.  I admit seeing the origin shots was different because I immediately thought of Spiderman and felt I had just seen it recently.  Lets see what is next.

Who is Leary playing?

Third person slinging made me a bit dizzy. Emma stone looks silly. You can already see a bit of the "twilight" emotional anguish in the movie. Theres also the "supernatural" theme with web coming out of his neck. Read quite a bit of spiderman comics - not sure if that part of Parker's parents is "long established". Its always been more about his aunt and uncle.

However, Garfield looks a much better actor than Maguire - seems to have a wider range of emotions. And the music is rocking! ... This film looks above average at this time ...

I like the first person point of view.  Might be cooler in 3d also.  They should try a movie in full first person point of view that's big budget.
