Yesterday we reported the news that Amazon.com had a new listing for the CLONE WARS novel BOBA FETT - A NEW THREAT. The young adult novel, to be published in April, introduces a new villain that will be seen on the screen for the first time in EPISODE III but is introduced in Elizabeth Hand's book. The character is rumored to be an alien being named General Grievious in command of Separtist forces.

Just one day ago, the Amazon.com listing showed the book's cover artwork which seemed to show Grievious standing between two previously established EPISODE II characters. Now, less than twenty-four hours after the story began appearing on STAR WARS and entertainment websites such as this one, the artwork for A NEW THREAT has been removed from the Amazon listing. No explanation is given on the Amazon page for the image's removal.

Curiously, the artwork for future STAR WARS novels, such as the June release of STAR WARS: MEDSTAR 1 - BATTLE SURGEONS, remain on the Amazon site. At this time all the evidence points to the conclusion that the likeness of General Grievious was accidentally revealed at least two months before Lucasfilm wanted it in the public domain.
