Jedi, AMC makes cutting edge TV... Madmen is awesome, and TWD isn't all about gore, it's very much a drama with people in a zombie world. I guarantee kids will die, and they will tackle edgy material. They may tone down the gore, but thats OK too, TWD lets the real horror become the people not the flesh eating hordes

AMC also made Breaking bad which is a seriously awesome show.  That show is also super fukked up.  Don't think so?  If anyone thinks that then they have now watched the show.  It is pretty gorey in some parts and there is mass violence every where.  Hell, the main characters are meth dealers dealing with crazy meth gangs.  Guns and dead people abound all over the place!

AMC shows classic movies intact and uncut. With all the violence, blood and gore that might intail.

I was going to say the same thing as Gauley and Axia, JediBanner.  If you think they are going to tone down the show you haven't seen Breaking Bad.  That show is beauceau violence and far as a television goes.  Also, I don't think they toned down Dawn of the Dead that much - on whatever channel they showed that - when it aired on cable.

As for a "superhero" show coming on FX that's in the tone of The Shield - I've praying for this treatment on a Daredevil or Moon Knight series - I'm am game.  I only have a passing knowledge of Powers but it does have an awesome premise and I've heard nothing but great things about it.  I just haven't picked any of the trades up - don't buy comics and I think I was overseas when it started anyway.  I can't wait.  I bet it blows Heroes out of the water.  Well, though, I still kind of like Heroes, that's not saying much.

While people keep bringing up Avatar, isn't it rather ironic that a clearly defined sci-fi film called Avatar wins the Golden Globe for Best Drama, yet a drama with a far superior story gets written off as a "genre film"?  That film being The Dark Knight.

Maybe if Cameron directed it, it would've won best drama too.  Ball suckers.

Yah know skyn3t you are right.  It is BS that Avatar, an obviously Sci-Fi movie, gets Best Drama yet the Drak Knight got written off a genre film.  But that is Hollywood for you!  Hyprocites one and all.

Sorry Jedi but i have to agree with some of the others here. With shows like breaking bad and mad men it looks like amc is trying to go in the same tyope of direction as FX is. I am being hopeful here. It wouldn't be the first time Hollywood screwed up a great franchise. Here is hoping this wont hapen to the walking dead.

Noahbody that was ok for a start but you gotta put more into it like "Damn you Favreau, damn YOUUUUUUUU!"  Get some feeling into it.

I recently read the first two issues of The Walking Dead and it was good stuff.  I look forward to the series and I also think like you guys that being on AMC won't hurt it at all.

A Powers tv series would be really interesting. Can we get the Wired people on board?

The guy running Shield is good enough, though that would be cool, too.
