This is definitely a good fit. I think the comic and the ideas in it are in line with Sonnenfeld's work. I just wonder if this is another DC property movie rumor or is WB really getting their s^%t together.

I dunno, I see this being stuck in development hell, like, forever.
Never Happen. Even today's current crop of Hollywood execs, the geniuses who recently brought us John Carter, Battleship and Rock of Ages, can't possibly think this movie would be a hit, right? What market are they trying for? It's only suited to little kids (many of whom will still think it's too simplistic) and comic fans in their late forties. Like the artice said, no one knows who they are. I only know them from their blurb in History of the DC Universe, which is itself 20 years old. I'm betting (hoping) that this is misinformation to keep people from finding out they're working on Doom Patrol or Suicide Squad or something that wouldn't suck monkey balls.
Nobody had ever heard of the Men In Black comic before it became a movie. I think Sonnenfeld could work the same quirky, but accessible twist on this idea he did for that. Plus some top notch actors to help wouldn't hurt.
Wiil Smith as Dr. Magnus. "Gold! Tina! Aww hawl no!"
Exactly monkeyfoot, the point is to make the characters relevant and make money on the property and DC has a ton just sitting in the vault. I think Sonnenfeld could do that. And are the doom patrol more known than Metal Men? I bet even the casual observer doesn't know who they are.
FINALLY, this is THE comic book movie EVERYONE is waiting for...forget Avengers, Batman, Superman or even the new Spider-Man...finally....FINALLY we will see them in a movie, THERE IS A GOD!!!
I mean, there must be millions out there wanting this to happens right? right? Hello? Anyone?... ''sound of flies buzzing''...
Yes children, this is how you do sarcasm...any questions?
I think this would be more interested in this if it was an animated feature. I really can't see this as a live action movie.
So it is a comedy. We need more comic book parody films. Not. DC pull your head out and give us something good besides Batman.
Yeah @monkeyfoot, no one had ever heard of Barbwire, Dylan Dog, Priest, Bulletproof Monk, 30 Days of Night, Jonah Hex, Howard the Duck, Swamp Thing, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (and overactors), Red Sonja, Swamp Thing, Tank Girl, Spawn, The Rocketeer, Vampirella or TimeCop until those characters got their own movies and now they're world famous household names right? Just because Men in Black, The Crow and The Mask were successful and good doesn't mean the lifetime batting average for comic book unknowns is that good.. In fact, for every Avengers, there's at least one turkey if not several. Get ready to add Metal Men to that list.
If done right, I'll bery much be looking forward to this movie. That being said, the Metal Men in their own movie semms a little bit... odd.
Not like this will actually be coming out any time soon, so I guess we'll wait and see.
