Move over Julia and Kate, another "a tough, no-nonsense and beautiful" female is joining the cast of LOST, says TV Guide. Rescue Me star Andrea Roth has been cast in a role described in the following casting notice.

A female character in her mid 30s described as "a tough, no-nonsense and beautiful" therapist who has a tendancy to be "overly controlling and obsessive."

Production began on season 4 of LOST on August 17, 2007 with the season set to air Feb-May consecutively without repeats. The season deals with the remaining survivors making contact with a freighter, seeking rescue and having flashforwards and flashbacks.

Why can't I get lost on an island with her! I would never want to leave.

I think she wants me! I can tell. Look at the way she's looking at me!

Wow, that's a really original-sounding description of a female character. Why is it that every female character has to be "tough, no-nonsense...obsessive, and controlling"? Granted, one of Lost's greatest attributes is creating characters who superficially fit archetypes but have much more depth to them. I just wish I could read a more interesting description of a female character than this generic crap.

By the way, does that mean Andrea Roth is leaving Rescue Me? I wasn't able to keep up with this past season so I have no idea what's become of her character. She seemed to be a smaller and smaller part of the show ever since the second season, so maybe she just wanted out.

Waiting until February sucks. At least I’ll only have to watch 16 episodes though. No wait - that sucks too. Piss off ABC.

so has she left Rescue Me or will she be doing both shows?

BAH! she won't last long! She looks like a drinker, which means she will discover the REAL secret of LOST: As soon as you get a DUI you get killed off.

#2 - monkeyfoot,
Excuse me, she's obviously looking at me.

Damn i remember her on Robocop the series.

her character from ROBOCOP the series was one of the few cool and decently creative parts of that show. A new ROBOCOP film is needed, maybe Frank Miller has some ideas. He could do it with Rodriguez after THE SPIRIT-I dont think Barbarella will get made for a while if at all.
