Hopefully the movie will feature the more streamlined armor that Tony wears in the comic.

Why is everybody so scared to do the Mandarin for a movie? We can't be that afraid of racism if you even want to call it that.
Doing Mandarin is risky, not because of political correctness but rather the balance of appealing to hard core fans and also a general audience that may not be quite so onboard with the whole suspension of disbelief. Basically, to do the Mandarin, you either have to introduce an alien back story which a lot of "normals" might find ridiculous for an Iron Man movie or you have to re-invent the Mandarin which will enrage the fanboys. Maybe the introduction of aliens in Avengers will make it possible, I don' know. I'm just saying it's tricky. Beyond that, I like the way casting is going for the next IM, although I'd rather see Guy Pearce as the lead in some other comic movie. He needs a good franchise, I don't think we'll be seeing Lockdown 2 anytime soon. He'd be aswesome for a Hellblazer reboot.
Mandarin is being saved for a future Avengers film.
I don't see what the big deal is, Thor already introduced other worlds to these films so aliens shouldn't be that big a deal.
Mandarin doesn't have to be that old chinese stereotype. He's a Genghis-Khan descendant in the books but for film I could see him being changed to middle-eastern based on the first IM. And I don't think that has to take away from the character in any form. Make him a descendant of Xerxes or some other character.
Or just make him Chinese but don't make him an offensive stereotype, it can't be that hard to do. He would also make a very cool Avengers villain, like a Chinese crimelord who ammases terrible power with the rings, takes over China, and then the Avengers help the Chinese military to take him down and avoid WWIII. Surely the CCP would be ok with that?
And Reek - damn straight Guy Pearce would be awesome in a Hellblazer reboot!!!
Wow I have to say my initial interest in Ironman 3 was low at the start of it being announced but it's like each set of news just gets better and better.
