With all due respect to Ron "Opie" Howard, is any is due, the films would be a LOT shittier if he'd "got it".

That's MY opinion, and I'm sticking to it.

But perhaps now that the money is rolling in satisfactorily, Lil Ron will cease from alleging "Vatican plots" against his film?  Or maybe that's just good business practice?

I don't believe anyone could have made a great film out of this book.  Maybe a passable TV miniseries.  The sets were pretty amazing though.  Hopefully Opie and Grazer will be "unavailable" for The Lost Symbol.  It'd be kinda cool to see what Tarantino could do with it!

Sorry, Tarantino's already booked to play the "mad evil monk" in the Book Of Love movie... He already dyed his hair red.  ;-)

I think that taking the Italian camerlengo from the book and making him Irish in the film (although played by a Scots actor) was less than inspired.  Is there currently a pandemic of people pretending to be Irish?

"Is there currently a pandemic of people pretending to be Irish?"

Heh...  I remember telling Rory Gallagher, on a particularly punishing morning-after...  "I wish I were Irish... then I'd have an excuse too"

Isn't it ironic that all our discussions end up citing alcohol references? And this time it wasn't even ME!

I kinda like the Tarantino idea... but I still think David Lynch would nail it. Especially with the ever-yummy Kyle Maclachlan playing Langdon...

Could it be, as Jacques de Molay might have said, bier is art?
