Good list. The only one I'm not a fan of is Black Lagoon. I just didnt like it. I also dont have much interest in Death Note. I dont dislike it, I just never got around to checking it out, and I'm very lazy in doing so. Oh, and Code geass. Couldnt get into that one either. I dont hate all of it though. Love the character designs, the sotry just didnt grab me.

I'm a big Blu-ray supporter, but so far see why othe rtitles beat out the Blu-ray releases this year, as there have been few. But Akira is easily one of the best Blu-ray's I own. anime or otherwise. The sound alone is worth the price of admission and then some.

I do plan on checking out Clannad and Heroic Age very soon. RxJ I got part way through, and plan on getting back to it soon.

Love me some Darker Than Black and Gurren Lagann, but I'm waiting for Blu-ray releases on both.

LOVE love LOVE Ouran. Own the set, and plan on upgrading to Blu-ray should that rumor end up true!

Where's the love for "Sword Of The Stranger"?

It was released on DVD and Blu-Ray earlier this year. That movie definitely needs more love. (And hey, who doesn't love watching a sword-swinging samurai flick every once in a while?)

It really is a good list.   There is something for almost every taste in there.  Although I still maintain that Clannad needs to be paired with it's second season Clannad After Story to get the full effect.  The first season has a lot in there, but the real drama and payoff is really in the second season.  The second season elevates Clannad from a good show to something amazing when put together.

Of course, it is hard to go wrong with Akira.  That is a classic that will hopefully never go away.  And something that has withstood the test of time quite well.  Big monsters, motocycle gangs, soldiers, the military, it really pretty much has it all.

Special shout outs to Heroic Age and Black Lagoon though.  The sci fi nut in me just adores Heroic Age, although it is more science drama than fiction.  The character designs do take some getting used to, but the story itself is a compelling one.  Sometimes, in the darkest of times, faith and hope are all you have left.

And, on the opposite side of that, there is Black Lagoon.  When hope and faith are gone, you can always count on your dual 9mm Beretta M92F's.

I would add Baccano! to that list.  I wholeheartedly support the Darker than BLACK recommendation.

DeathNote's title and description just doesn't have that "hey buy me!" type of thing going for it. But once I watched that first episode I was hooked and boy each episode is another wild ride.  Definitely worth checking out. I really need to watch Akira again. I hated that Anime when I watched it in the mid 90s, but I was a teen then. I was more in interested in Golgo 13 and Crying Freeman in those days. I'm curious to see if I was just being a teen idiot or if this movie is really overrated in the Anime community. But I'm checking out everything on this list starting with Darker Than Black.

I really don't think the Code Geass trailer did it justice. An incredible show with a great dub, the trailer should be no problem. I'm currently buying the entire series myself and watching the series over for the second time. It's an amazing show that only gets progressively better and better, especially with season 2 (though it can't and shouldn't be seen without season 1).

I was really disappointed with the Gurren Lagann dub. I really wanted to be able to watch the dub so I wouldn't have to read subtitles, but at hearing Kamina's voice I knew I couldn't do it. His Japanese voice actor is so badass, but his english dub voice... well...

I don't really know many of the other anime. I've seen Ouran, and it's a fun anime. Not sure whether or not I'd buy it, especially when money's tight (I'm only buying Code Geass because it's the best), but I'll rent it at least.

RomeoxJuliet I plan seeing, but not buying. I know the ending already anyway (spoiler alert; they die at the end.)
