While making the press rounds for 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno' fan fave hottie Elizabeth Banks told CHUD that she's not sure if she'll be returning to the 'Spider-Man' film franchise.
Banks played J. Jonah Jameson's secretary Betty Brant in the first three movies. In the comics, Brant is a minor love interest for Peter Parker and and enduring supporting character. In the movies her role could be described as a bit part at best.
"I'm the last person they call," Brant said, acknowledging that Betty's place in the film franchise is relatively minor.
Banks was a virtual unknown when cast in the part but has gone on to become a star and leading lady. So, even if Sam Raimi wants her to do what she's done in the first three movies, she may be unwilling.
"If it's that small, I probably won't do it. They don't need Betty Brant. It's purely, at this point - and I don't think they see it this way - it's kind of a favor at this point," Banks said.
'Zack and Miri Make a Porno' opens in theaters October 31st.

She's a leading lady in what 1 film thats not even out yet, sure it's Kevin Smith, but C'MON!!!
Betty is important to the movies, even though she's a bit part, and that girl, whatever her name is, plays her well. She'll come back as soon as she gets the call, besides the extra-ordinary cast and crew she'd be working with, she'll need a paycheck by then.
Betty was way under used. They can recast. But I think the presence is needed there.
Yea...i thought the Betty in those films was pretty sexy. Everytime, we(including Peter Parker) would just get a small teasy taste of her. In part 4, Peter should definitely just hit that shit and make Mary Jane jealous, and make her wanna fix her teeth. haha.
I'm pretty sure she's the leading lady in numerous films..... Like W., Slither, Invincible, Definetly Maybe, Meet Dave, the upcoming film: The Uninvited..... She's been in enough movies and is correct when she says "it's kind of a favor at this point"
The character hasn't done a thing in the Spider-Man franchise and recasting it will not be an issue.

Unfortunately Raimi fucked up with her character. She was Peter's first girlfriend in the comics and to do that now wouldn't make much sense. They could still do something else with her but it's probably too late. Anyway as far as the films go she is easily replaceable. Damn Raimi
