Ousted Image Comics founder Rob Liefeld has sold another movie concept to Hollywood, this time to Spyglass Entertainment, the company that brought us THE SIXTH SENSE. Liefeld's new creation is called SPIN and is about a flourishing career woman whose life is derailed when a curse is placed upon her. Kara Holden is fleshing out the idea, which is supposedly about to become a nonline comic strip, into a screenplay. Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jonathan Glickman are all producers on the project, with Liefeld's manager Brooklyn Weaver serving as an exec producer.
Liefeld has a track record of selling concepts to Hollywood but yet has to see one get turned into an actual film. Among the many properties sold are PLANET TERRY (New Line Cinema), THE MARK and GALAXY GIRL (Paramount Pictures), SHRINK! (Columbia Pictures) and a long, long time ago, DOOM'S IV (DreamWorks).
Liefeld is presently drawing a new X-FORCE comic book mini-series for Marvel Comics, making a return to the same book that made him a superstar in the comics industry.
