Anthony Michael Hall in DARK KNIGHT Revealed?

Possible SPOILER sub-plot details inside this article, reader. This story/rumor clarifies previous rumors on which character Anthony Michael Hall will be playing in Nolan's THE DARK KNIGHT next year. Previously, online news stated that Hall could be playing a possible future villain in the way of "The Riddler". Apparently, that may not be the case according to Hollywood Chicago which was informed otherwise and had set photos to back it up somewhat...You will see from the photo on the top left that there will be a GCN set in the Batman sequel..

Here's what Hollywood Chicago had to say on the subject of which role Anthony Michael Hall will be playing...

This information comes definitively from working hours on the set on Sunday, Aug. 19. This information exposes the widely debated role of Anthony Michael Hall and his involvement with Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Hall’s character plays an investigative reporter for the GCN, which was photographed on Aug. 19. The scene shot that day, which is about three-fourths of the way into the film, goes like so.

Hall’s character is intensely jealous of Bruce Wayne. He even has an exactly matching Lamborghini Murcielago.

The character learns of Bruce Wayne’s true identity as Batman and plans to use the GCN to blow the whistle on him. My source describes Hall’s character not as a villain but as an antagonist.

Of course, the Joker is the true villain. Out of fear that the Joker will lose the object of his game-playing affection, he sets out to stop Hall’s character by calling in a bomb threat to the TV station.

The bomb threat causes widespread havoc. The move is designed to steal the attention off the character so he can’t issue the Batman-revealing report.

The source also submitted some pictures of a Lamborghini on set. This source spent time speaking with Anthony Michael Hall and in a PA meeting. He/She did not sign a confidentiality agreement.

THE DARK KNIGHT hits theaters everywhere on July 18, 2008.

Big thanks to veteran Maniac scooper, Daforce, for passing this bit along..

Sorry This doesn't have anything to do with the topic. But aren't those letters at the door look like the Battlestar Galactica font?

What's the deal with having all these story lines? Didn't we learn anything from the first Batman films or even the last Spiderman film? Come on! Once again, it's one thing to have multiple villains/stories over a course of 30 issues, but in a two hour movie? Why not keep it simple?

jdnobody, normally I would agree with you and say that any movie with too many plot lines is just looking for trouble. However, have you ever seen "Memento", the Nolan movie starring Guy Pearce? I know it's not the same thing, but when you're watching a movie in reverse in 5 minute increments, it FEELS like there's a lot of plot lines to absorb...I think Nolan will be able to pull this off just as perfectly as he did with "Batman Begins".

It does sound like there is alot going on. And some of it does sound a lil' stupid ie.. all the Batman wannabes running around and now this AMH crap. Who knows. l give Nolan the benefit of the doubt. I do like the look of the Joker and his goon's from the few pics I've seen. Not to wild about the new batsuit. I'm a less is more kinda guy. Only time will tell.

It sounds like a lot, but if you think back to Batman Begins, there were a number of plot threads going: Bruce overcoming his fear, becoming Batman, taking back Wayne Enterprises, Ra's and his plans, Carmine Falcone and his work with Scarecrow. I was always impressed with how much was deftly handled and fit into that movie, and imagine Nolan can do it again.

Well, this explains the rumor about multiple people dressed as Batman in the movie. I'm sure the Joker has his hand in it. How else would you mix up the evidence. Plus, I imagine, we get to see Hall's character make a rather nasty exit in the hands of the crowm prince of crime.

BTW, when it comes to mutliple villians...I think Nolan did fine in the first film. If you count, he had Ra, the Scarecrow, Zzzzack (is hat right. really just a cameo.), and a mafia stooge. Not to mention all the other nuts running lose.

I wish I could stop myself from reading these spoilers... but once I see the word spoiler, and should close the window, I start scrolling down telling myself I will just read part of the news, or some of the plot... then I end up reading it all, and basically ruining it for myself...... Why in every super hero movie, does the bad guy have to figure out who the hero's secret identity is... well maybe not every... but man it happens a lot...
Batman
Batman 2
Batman forever
Spiderman
Spiderman 2
Spiderman 3
Batman Begins
and so on... and so on

madmanic999, that is easy, because the actor will only wear the mask for so long before he MUST show his face. To me, that is just irratating. I'd love to see a Spidey or Bats movie where they kept the mask on for, at the very least, half the movie. Main problem of a hero who wears a mask film.

But, I certainly see your ponit about the bad guy knowing the heroes idenity. Another question...why does the bad guy always die in these films? Let's see....Batman, Batman 2, Batman Forever, Batman and Robin, Spiderman, Spidey 2, Spidey 3 and Batman Begins...yep, villians all die.

Heh, funny...they didn't use FOX or maybe "BOX" for the jerky reporters news room. GCN....you never see CNN as the villian. Heh.

BTW, am I the only one who misses the wisecracking, smart ass Spiderman? He seems absent in all three films.

Answering 2 questions at once...

alphan: Yes.

Cappymorgan: Emphatic NO !! I miss him too. One of the major things that made Spidey so great for me.

Well, this certainly doesn't fit into the "Oh ****!" category of story spoilers that Hall led everyone to believe would be associated with his character.
