With all the turmoil going on with Ant-Man, it is high time that Marvel get its self back in order. The days are counting to the film release (13 months) and until yesterday there was still no director. Only lists of directors. Well news has surfaced on that the film, finally, has a new director in Peyton Reed (Down with Love, Bring It On, Yes Man).

From “When Marvel's "Ant-Man" hits theaters July 17, 2015, director Peyton Reed will help shepherd the hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a cast led by Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, with writer Adam McKay contributing to the film's script.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world”.

Good news, the drama over this can be put to rest.

Well... I'm sure we'll still get a good movie. The spectre of this will pass. I'm disappointed that Marvel didn't reach out to Edgar Wright at the last. But, you know... onward.

Bring It On is awesome, that is all.

Now it remains to be seen how much of Wright's vision remains intact.

Horrible choice all movies he's directed sucked. I think this will be the first movie that will be a failure for Marvel

Hanso has a point.  On the one hand, it's not Wright, on the other, Janet Van Dyne will be written in as the captain of the cheerleading team.  This could still work!

Well the Russo's were a odd choice to direct The Winter Soldier but you can't argue with the results. Marvel were so impressed with them that they signed them up for Cap 3 before Winter Soldier was even completed filming. The point being you can't really judge by a director's previous work or track record when it comes to a Marvel project.

Cast ELiza Dushku in a cheerleader uniform and I will  be happy! :)

Was there any reason they didn't ask Jon Favreau to take over?

I dare say everyone commenting here will love it.'s Marvel.  That's your place of worship...isn't it?

As for the 99% of the people on this planet who don't read comics and those who couldn't care less about Marvel  it will just be another fun popcorn movie with a lot of high priced super cool special effects which will hopefully entertain / occupy our kids, and with a strong suspension of disbelief maybe even allow us adults to escape from reality for a couple of hours.
