This is one I look least forward too. Hopefully they only announce manga know's about. Mainly because I don't want my manga on tissue paper.

This should have started a couple of minutes ago, but Bayoab's probably just leaving the Geneon Universal panel right now.

Joining TokyoPop in progress just in time to talk about digital distro:
11:14:01 <bay|AX|TP> Overdrive... supplies digital books to libraries and now libraries have digital copies of tokyopop books that you can borrow for free
11:14:26 <bay|AX|TP> I can go to the library site (in this case LA), and download the book and it will disappear after the loan is done.
11:14:31 <bay|AX|TP> It is mostly korean titles due to rights
11:14:55 <bay|AX|TP> There is probably a list somewhere of all the libraries that are participating

I loved how Bay refused to write up about TP's reality TV show. Please TP, don't make me laugh. Go learn what otaku really means (hint: it's not wannabe Real World for manga fans). Good Job. ^^b
More FMP is always nice, but I really wish TP would finish Aria.

Yes I take that as a positive sign that at least someone may have it or is close to having it. I will rebuy it instantly. I have all the old TP volumes and they're passable for the time period they came out in, but are crap by today's standards.

Holy crap! With all the talk about the anime possibly getting rescued I completely forgot about the manga. That would be really awsome if that gets picked up again, as I never had the chance t buy it before it went OOP

TP's reality TV show.
It's not on TV, though I realize... However.... Unfortunately, a lot of people can watch... Limited to america though... Unfortunately the Japanese can't grab it and laugh.

I've ignored every piece of email, tweet and whatever that comes my way on it. Bleah.

I'm going to guess you mean the reality show (which is the first and hopefully last I ever hear of it). If you mean FMP or Aria however...:beat:

Sometimes, I get the impression Tokyopop forgets they are a manga company. It's great that Stu wants to do pop culture ventures and all that. But TP didn't grow and become the market leader at one point because they made the next MySpace for anime fans, Hollywood blockbuster, or whatever their flavor of the year is--they sold comics. It's like they've lost focus on what they are supposed to be selling over the past few years.
I'm just glad Yen Press took their place.

Look at how they started. If they want to branch out I wish they would go back to importing stuff.

I'll be right there with you on that one - I have all the old volumes and would definitely re-buy, especially if I don't have to read the name 'Bunny' ever again. :relief:

I would love for TP (or any company) to re-do Sailor Moon with a proper translation.
And I'm very glad they're at least semi-committing to FMP!.

This was about the only announcement I really cared for from TP.
I was curious about what would be included in the Chibi Vampire: Airmail volume, so kinda glad I pre-ordered that when I did.
