Since this is make in circulation (though in DVD-R) for $12.99, I thought it's a good idea to re-hash on the cover art. The last release was released back in 5/29/01.

The long OOP Tokyopop DVD release (and their first) is now available for order again (though in DVD-R) via CreateSpace (like what they did for Rave Master earlier this year). The disc price is $12.99. It's uncertain at this point in time if there is going to be a limited run for this release (like Rave Master).

For those who want to try the movie out, it's available for viewing @ Hulu (http://www.hulu.com/watch/162653/spring-and-chaos).

Directed by Shoji Kawamori (Vision of Escaflowne & Macross), Spring and Chaos is the animated biography of the man who inspired the imaginations of everyone around him and of generations to come.

Kenji Miyazawa is one of Japan's most read and beloved modern poets. His rich allegorical verse has transcended time and captivated the hearts and minds of millions... and you can now experience the wonder of his world as depicted by animation master Kawamori.

I always kind of liked this main artwork. It's fitting to the movie of which I haven't seen in a long time. I will pass on this as I already own the collector's edition (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2001-05-24/collectors-edition-spring-and-chaos-dvd). Regardless, it's good to see this back in circulation (though in a limited capacity).

I love this film and am glad to see it is still around (though a pairing with Night on the Galactic Railroad rescue would be a nice one-two for those who don't have them) but I have the CE version already...heck, I still have the defective original disc and the poster I was sent with the fixed disc as well.

Not that it really matters, but it appears that they cut off a bit from the left side on the cover of the new version, removing that little red spot (part of a nose?)

Anyways, I dont think I'll be getting this, it just doesn't interest me.

That's definitely is what it seems like. It seems like they shrunk down the main artwork. The main texts got a bit smaller too. I think the older artwork with the nose works better.
