Aquarion: Complete Collection (S.A.V.E. Edition / Repackage) due out on 11/2/10*.

* Existing SKU. May be available with select retailers before 11/2. There is no change in MSRP ($29.98) from the previous S.A.V.E. release (http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=97510). The UPC is supposedly still the same. This pretty much leaves the packaging/front cover to be the only change.

This is not doing it for me. The main artwork feels more like a random collage of pics. I will pass on this as I own the half season sets.

I'm completely not following FUNi's logic here. So they're just throwing away more money by making a brand new cover of a design that NOBODY likes without changing the price, when they had a perfectly serviceable cover already? Seriously, I'm confused. My only guess is that they're taking a brutal move with their "you need to support the initial release" argument by making some of their re-release covers so hideous so some consumers who care what their collection looks like will snatch up the first release. That's all I can think of.

The original S.A.V.E. boxset was a thinpak release. Thinpak versus keepcase/brick. Which one is cheaper? They might have made the switch when the original packaging ran out. And they went with the cheaper packaging. Again it's just (possible) speculation on my part.

Dito...I wonder why they did a new one like this...

Yea, I am pretty happy with the $12 I gave to Bestbuy when they had their funimation sale awhile back, skip....very very big skip

The spine is just too distracting.

I don't like this cover at all. If I were to get this series(probably won't) I'd go for the original sets since Rightstuf still has them.

The cover isn't really working for me. The background is ok, but having all the characters just seems too crowded and unneccessary. I'm just amazed that this series is getting so many re-releases, didn't know it was so popular.

Rather, it's not that popular, so resoliciting to get it listed again at retailers, repackaging to try and attract more interest, and continuing to drop the price point to squeeze a few more bucks out of the license is the way to go.

I wish I would have gotten this while Best Buy still had it in stock for $12, oh well, $13.99 at Amazon is good enough I guess.
