Agarest Senki Zero

is coming to the U.S. and UK. (http://www.siliconera.com/2010/10/27/agarest-senki-zero-soul-breeding-into-europe-and-north-america/) And this time Aksys is doing the localization work on both versions.

I still haven't gotten around to playing the original one (I imported the UK version). The UK is getting an LE again, no word on Aksys's US plans. In fact, they haven't announced theirs, Ghostlight just let it slip in their announcement. Ooops.

In any case, I'll almost definitely be getting this, I'll just need to hear Aksys' release plans before I decide which version to go for.

Given I doubt it will get a US physical release here for the PS3, I'll probably import it. Not that I've gotten past the second age of the first game.

I'm a bit mixed on having Aksys do the localization, however. They tend to go for a more Working Designs style approach, which I detest. On the other hand, Ghostlite went for a hyper-literal approach with poor proofreading, which I also detest.

If I had to choose, I'd go with the "more localized" approach. Since in a script like that I may actually enjoy certain aspects of it.

The super literal approach with no nuance reads like a glorified Chinese bootleg.

Sweet. I'll go with whichever happens to be better. Shame we won't have the same awesome LE that the 360 had, but to be fair, I'm struggling to think of an R1 release that had as much ludicrously absurd extras.

Of course, if they WERE to release something like the really naughty LE, I'd buy that. Just because. It's for research purposes. Probably. >_>
