Bobby Kotick's shit eating grin strikes again. (http://gamasutra.com/view/news/31566/Activision_Considers_Sale_Of_Blur_Dev_Bizarre_Crea tions_Puts_Staff_On_Notice.php)
There are no words to describe how angry I am at Activision for this. These guys made Blur, PGR, and Geometry Wars, and they're being dropped because one game sold bad.
I hope the laid off employees find work and I hope this is not a turn for the worse; seeing Bizarre Creations shut down would be a major upset to me.

Remember when Bobbie Koteck was boasting about how Activision "doesn't" acquire studios and then close them down when its "evil" competitors did? Ummm...yeah. Blur didn't look the least bit interesting to me (at least compared to Split/Second, its direct competitor), but it's sad to see the studio closed over one misguided game.

Yeah, it's a real shame. Some fantastic games came out of Bizarre over the years.

Why that man is not fired and possibly tarred and feathered is beyond me.

Because irate gamers don't own Activision stock. (http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jYDfIKxfwibYH4POSFyXRtJy4wUg?docId=f58929135 5414e64aa9aa3a6ca3f497c)

If Bizarre gets sold to a different company, this will be good news. I vowed to never support Activision and never buy games published by them because I hate Bobby Kotick, so if they are with a different company I will get to buy games from them again! But if they completely go out of business I would be pissed. I loved PGR. :(

I doubt they'll choose to shut down Bizarre, maybe they will go to Microsoft or someone else.

Well, by now I guess everyone has heard the news that Bizarre closed its doors last week. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel...former employees have formed a new company called Lucid Games. (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/02/25/former-bizarre-employees-create-lucid-games/)
I hope this can mean some good stuff in the future. Maybe a new Project Gotham Racing? A new Geometry Wars? Or a return to an old game like The Killing Game Show or Metropolis Street Racer? Or something new entirely with the same magic that Bizarre's old titles had?
Time will tell I guess. It's nice to know something good has come from this.

Unfortunely, unless they buy those IPs back from that money grubbing evil empire Activision, they are likely just going to have to do new stuff. And the way things are now its going to be moble gaming stuff.

Wow....Activision is like killing off it's business one piece at a time in rapid order... I'm not supporting their company after this. It'd be interesting to see the new spin-off join a company like Take-Two. just sayin'....just sayin'

Wouldn't the IPs they had under them be just Blur and that 007 game?
