I guess that this is more artistic, but I prefer the Japanese cover art with the real-world characters, rather than the online ones. I'll definitely be buying the BD version. I'll try to wait for the price to hit a certain level before I make the purchase, but I don't think that I'll wait more than six months...

While I like the "real world" art better, I think the "Oz" poster art that this cover uses makes more sense for physical brick and mortar retail appeal.

So they went with this cover art. I guess it works. It does feel a bit busy. I will be passing on the DVD version...it's BD all the way for me.

Awesome, but this is way to spoilerish.

Really? I have seen the movie a couple times. I don't think it's spoilerish. It's also the FUNi theatrical poster as well.

And also it appears that the DVD will be a 2-disc release. I wonder what extras will be included (and whether that be in the BD release as well).

I like this cover more than the R2 cover. I'll be getting the BD.

I am completely unaware of this... movie? But the cover does look quite interesting...

It's a movie. Here is the theatrical trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsLwVoZqEjk).

I guess cover makes it look more interesting than the real world cover and therefore should sell more.

You do realize that this could be a slip cover and that when you take it off it reveals the real-life characters?

You do realize that this could be a slip cover and that when you take it off it reveals the real-life characters?

I think that would be ideal. Or a reversible cover. I love both pictures (Oz and "Real-World"), so I hope they include them both somewhere.

I'm hoping that it's reversible, but it's not a disaster if there is no real-world backside to the OZ characters.

While I like the real world character artwork, I do agree that the virtual world characters are more attention-grabbing for the store shelves.

I like the OZ characters better. It'll appeal to parents more. This is a family-friendly movie after all.

Since I only know about the show from trailers and a few blog comments, this is a first for me to see the OZ characters, and I hope this cover is more suggestive than spoilerish. I do really like the "real world" posters I've seen about (I love Sadamoto's character designs), and I hope such images might be included elsewhere on the release.

I'll definitely be getting this DVD release when it comes out, so the fact it's a two-disc release makes me optimistic for engaging extras. :sdsmiley:

For comparison sake...Madman Ent. (R4) is getting this with first run LE exclusive slipcase.

I like that one. It's got the real-world characters, plus a couple of the virtual avatars are shown. I might still favor the Japanese cover art, but this Madman cover is much better than what it seems like we'll be getting here in the US.

Agreed... it would be nice to have a reversible cover with each image on either side...

Doesn't look too bad. Does anyone know if there's anything on the Japanese BD/DVD that we'll be missing out on?

Oooh, pretty but useless collectibles! Want!!

I'm quite happy with the version of the cover art that features a nice-lookin' babe up front. Please, nobody tell me she's fifteen, or something...

High school junior/senior.

I think I'd be more interested in the cards if they had the real-world character art on the backside.
