You know, that's a really slick-looking cover. Well done, FUNimation.
This is a very nice artwork. I like it very much. I will pass as I own the DVD sets and the BD sets as well.

I'm liking this a lot. Does FUNi plan on bringing this to blu-ray?

Woah, add another one to the sexy list.

That looks really good. That art is featured in one of the better official wallpapers for GS1.
Have both on blu already though, so that's that. Could be a great deal for those who haven't put these on their shelf yet.

Alot of my friends have recommended this show, so definitely gonna buy it whenever I have $30 or less to spare.

I know the mangaka drew it that way, but that has always struck me as an incredibly awkward way to hold that weapon. I admit I'm not familiar with that particular gun, but bracing it against your right shoulder and firing it with your left hand just seems awkward. As someone with a right hand dominant but left eye dominant, I can understand there might be a reason to try that, but I also have personal experience (with different guns) with how it just doesn't work welll. And it isn't like she's bracing it just against her shoulder, but almost like she's trying to brace the stock crosswise over her chest.
Probably shouldn't nit-pick the pose, but he does go in to such detail on the guns that it makes it hard to think he's skimped on the actual weapon handling. Still looks very wrong.

I see what you mean. Regardless, it's still an awesome cover.

One of my very favorite shows, it deservingly gets a spectacular cover. I own the original releases, but held back on the Blu-Ray. If this gets a BD release, I'm 100% getting this. If not, I'm still considering a double-dip.

Now this is a sweet cover. In fact, the majority of the March releases are looking pretty sweet.

Always liked this artwork, but I don't have much personal experience with firearms, so never noticed the way Henrietta holds that P-90 as awkward before.
I already own the first season, but in that horrible, original Viridian packaging.
That is UTTERLY OUSTANDING! Much like ExcelGenerations, consider my jaw dropped. On the floor.
I may just double-dip for the cover alone! 0_0

That's what happens when interests are limited, or research only goes halfway. I suppose there's always the excuse that she's got the extra strength and dexterity to hold any gun whichever way she wants to.

I like the layout, the fonts and the effects on everything, but I've never liked that image. I think it's how she's holding the gun and the cheerleader skirt.

I think the OVA was never released on BD, so this won't probably be on BD.

It would just be a matter of time. I will be shocked if they don't do this sometime in the future.

This will be 100% incorrect. The BD release for Gunslinger Girl - Il Teatrino included the OVA.

Scary Henrietta almost makes me want to buy all of this over again. I think that my slight nitpick of the way that it doesn't quite represent ALL aspects of the show will keep me from doing so. :P
As with Gungrave's packaging, excellent job, FUNi.

That is a pretty good cover. I don't think it trumps the cover art of the singles, as I liked the simplicity of the character portrait on a stark white background, but pretty good. If Funi had made this the design for the original singles' artbox, that would have been awesome.
If you like the artwork, there's a wall scroll (and if you can find it) a t-shirt with what looks like to be the exact same image.
This cover is way awesome. I wonder why (and am sad that) it hasn't been listed for BD yet.
If this got released on Bluray with *that* coverart, that'd be enough for me to double-dip... ABSOLUTELY enough.

WoW now THIS is really slick looking. Best cover they've done for Gunslinger Girl yet....I love this. I have a weakness for black backgrounds when they're done like this. Too bad I own the entire thing already.

I wholeheartedly agree! Especially since stupidly bought their cardboard cutout release of the first season :( . I WANT this! lol

Advanced training schools generally teach you to brace an automatic weapon not on your shoulder, but near to your chest.
It IS weird, but it offers a lot more control.
Do bear in mind that her pose is taken directly from the show, where she is putting fire into an apartment through the doorway; her stance could be dictated by that environment.
Finally, the P90 doesn't kick (I've shot the semi variant), all controls are fully ambidextrous, with the brass ejecting down the bottom. You could shoot it putting the buttstock on your forehead and the only major issue would be hot brass hitting your nose or finding its way down your shirt.
Well, that and hitting your target!
Edit: and the cover is badass. Likely preorder since this has the whole shebang in one box.

This cover is definitely better than the other ones. It shows that GSG is not some run-of-the-mill moe anime series.

Is this one in Funi's standard "two thinpack in a thin box" packaging?
EyeOfPain

Most of FUNi's re-releases lately have used keepcases with flippers and a slipcover, so this is probably the same.

I have not see this in person, but the packaging is not supposed to be keepcase. It's probably their thinpaks housed inside a thin artbox.

I'm not sure if I'd put something which uses a number rating system on the back of the box, or if you're going to don't put the rating unless it's four or five stars.
The 8/10 comes off a bit weird.

At the very least, I would have made it the same font size as the other two quotes.

I personally think there is just way too much text on the back cover.

I agree with this. And they should put the same importance to the 3 quotes.
