A few years ago, I would have found this to be awesome news, but since I realized I just suck at fighting games and I get frustrated with them too much, I kinda gave up on them lol. Anyways, thoughts anyone?

Go buy Blazblue: Continuum Shift then. Ark Systems went out of their way for the beginners on that one. They created a special "Beginner Mode", that converts the control scheme to something very simple (think Super Smash Bros). It can easily be toggled on and off with a push of the left shoulder button on the character select screen.
They also threw in a huge tutorial mode, that explains the fighting system in great detail.

Funny you should mention that. I actually have Calamity Trigger, and I tried to get good at the game via the dustloop forums (Which was really the only forum to go to for Blazblue) and it wasn't very good at explaining everything IMO. It's good to know CS has a tutorial. I think I may have to check that out.
Also, as for the next Soul Calibur game, I may actually get it if it has a tutorial like Soul Calibur 3 did. Virtua Fighter 4 evo also had a good tutorial.

Just hoping it turns out to be SC 5 on PS3/360. PSP one was good and I'd buy the inevitable SC 3DS, but for the moment I'd prefer a console version.

Yeah, lets hope it doesn't go the Blazblue route and go PSP only (Calamity trigger 2 will only be on PSP).

It's Continuum Shift 2. But CS2 is like CS but with the DLC characters added in from the start and a few balance issues which we console owners will receive as well via a patch.

Yeah that's what I was going to say - CS2 will be technically only PSP (as the PSP hasn't got CS yet) but the extra features will come to PS3/360 as a patch/DLC.

I see. That makes sense. I just bought CS yesterday for PS3 so I will not be buying the PSP version.
I wonder if this new Soul Calibur will be multiplatform and have exclusive characters like 2 and 4 did. I would like to see Cole from Infamous on the PS3 if possible. :D

Although i tend to spend more time in the characters creation than playing the game i would welcome a new SC game. Humm, maybe this time they'll add Kratos to the PS3 version as well.

I'd like to see them get rid of the character creation mode and gimmicky exclusive characters and focus on the regular characters. Playing SC with a made up character is like playing SFII, but instead of playing Ryu or Chun-Li, you use some random fighter. It's just not the same to me. I guess one of the things I liked the most about the SC series was its attractive cast of characters. I want to see them focus more on developing those characters' personalities and storylines.

I agree that character creation in a fighting game is kind of dumb. I do like exclusive characters though.
It's better playing a fighting game when you know what your character is fighting for, his backstory, etc. otherwise I feel it's not the same playing as that character.

Well not having the character creation is not an issue for me but it keeps me playing the game even after i finish all the stories and so since i don't play much versus. Perhaps if they were to incorporate some anime characters this time as guests. Say: Gatts (Berserk), or Kenshin and so on.
