Okay, I meant to post this earlier today, but damned life wanted to interfere again, so I'm posting it now. For those who are interested, the start time to send me the PMs with your first character list will start at 6 PM EST on Friday, January 7th. If there are any questions, feel free to post them here, or check the site for this at http://dunno001.spoonybards.net/aod/ .

Will almost certainly play if I get in - I do have another themed team (with INITIALS OF BOLD DOOM AS USUAL) in mind - inspired by a few other teams in the past, but it means I would have to sacrifice a lot of my favourite characters this year...but might be fun experimenting with both old school and new age to say the least...

Same with me, and even if I don't get my #1, my #2 and #3 choices aren't too shabby, either. Though I only submitted a list of 8 characters instead of my usual 10.

Same here. At the moment I'm torn to make a theme this draft (if I make it that far), as in the back of my mind my favourite characters are asking to be seleceted. Decisions, decisions.

The fun part is you could in theory end up with a theme without even trying. And no, them all being anime characters does not count as a theme.

I have no idea how many people have sent in lists, but I'd figure it this way. The only way to have a chance to get in is to send a list. So go ahead and send one as soon as you can. Fulfill your destiny.

-A couple of characters I'm surprised at how long it took to go. That's all I'm going to say on that for now.
-There are 17 registered entrants as of now. 8 of these came in right on the 6:00 minute, and 16 of the 17 have gotten their first pick. (This means to those on the fence, there are still 3 openings...)
-I think there will be some... pleasant surprises in the listing...

In my case, I ended up getting my second pick. As my first pick was taken by someone else. I'd make a joke based on it, but it's best not to give things way. Maybe I'll make the joke after, it's no longer a secret who got who.

Right. I've had a chance to fix the title of the Big Board. I've also prepped one feature I did for the VA Draft for use in the Anime Draft again this year. That's the Draft RSS Feed (http://www.theavatarlibrary.co.uk/drafts/draft.xml). I plan to update that more often than the Big Board itself, so if you want to see the last ten or so picks at a glance but don't want to load up the thread itself then the RSS feed is your friend.

Pretty much, except that there are a few major differences. First of all, the first round is your PM selection and the order for the second round depends on how well the characters do in the polls rather than completely random like it is in the VA draft. Second, there is no casting at the end. Your characters are facing off in a poll with other characters from the round.

The rest of the rules should be self-explanatory, but one important thing you need to keep in mind is that you are allowed only one character per anime series. So don't go loading up on characters from, say, Bleach because once you select someone from that series, you can't add anyone else from that series.

Also, remember to be careful when drafting certain CLAMP characters (those with Tsubasa connections) not to draft more than one character from the Tsubasa universe, even if you drafted that character from its original series.:sweat:

Well you say that, but last year we technically had enough also - but we went with 21 since it would have been a waste to drop the 21st.

It was two years ago as that draft didn't start signups until around February 1st. That year, there were 21 after only two days and 7 more by the end of signups. Last year ended up being about the same as this year by the fourth day of signups (around 19).

I guess I should consider myself very fortunate. 4-6 seem like they should be pretty easy for me. There are more than 3 in each round that I like, but only 2 or 3 of them that I really love. Round 7 looks like the killer for me (as that's where I stopped looking), since I think I had 8 that I really want to vote for there. That one will be tough.

Round 4 isn't actually that bad. Although there may still be some wavering back and forth between a couple of people.

Round 5 might be a bit more challenging.

Round 6 however scares me. Yumi, Kanata, Rika, and Konata all in the same round. This is evil.
