DC Universe Online

Anyone pick this up today? I grabbed the deluxe edition just in case but I've never done the online multiplayer thing. Finding the thought of it all a bit intimidating. I'm a huge DC fan though so I figure I'd like it. I also fear I will like it too much and it will consume me lol. So I'm looking for reviews while I sit here at work deciding if I will even open it when I get home.

I got the beta but the thing is I only played it for about 30 minutes, wish I could help you guys out. I DID pre-order the game though, I might pick it up tomorrow.

I'd like to get it, GameSpot had a long playthrough video for it and it looks like a lot of fun, but I'm not very keen on MMO's.

Well I opened it. It takes 16Gigs on your PS3 HD and about 3 hours to download all the content so I only played an hour. But it was pretty fun. Not addicted just yet but I can see how easy it can be to get addicted. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play more tonight.

That was pretty good. The guy at the store told me he played the beta version and it took him 6 hours. So i was pleased with 3!:sdsmiley:

I washed the dishes, fed the cats, made dinner, ate and watched a 3 hours of PVRed TV programs! :bigsmile:

The beta took me like 12 hours to install. When the bar was full I waited for about 4 hours and it wasn't going anywhere. I finally gave up and turned off the system, when I booted it up again it worked, haha.

It's a game like World of Warcraft, so not really. You could ignore all the other players, but that sort of defeats the purpose of playing a Massively Multiplayer Online game. ;)

Earl on in the game you do have missions where you only ned yourself but eventually you'll get to levels that involve partying up with other players to complete missions. haven't made it that far myself but am enjoying playing alone for now.
