Section23 revealed details of the Clannad: After Story upgrade program (http://afterstory.rightstuf.com/). Follow the below instructions to participate and receive a discounted price on the complete 25-episode Clannad: After Story DVD (http://www.rightstuf.com/i/sfcl600) collection, which features a new English dub, in addition to the Japanese audio and subtitles.
Clannad: After Story Upgrade
(1) Redeem the completed upgrade form (http://afterstory.rightstuf.com/), the sub-only Clannad: After Story Collections 1 and 2 (sfcl300 and sfcl400) -- all (4) DVDs, sleeve art and plastic cases -- plus $20 for the DVD upgrade and postage [$3 postage within the USA / $6 for Canada].
(2) Or if you purchased only one of the sub-only sets -- Clannad: After Story Collection 1 (sfcl300) or Clannad: After Story Collection 2 (sfcl400) -- redeem the completed upgrade form (http://afterstory.rightstuf.com/), plus the (2) DVDs, sleeve art and plastic case and $35 for the DVD upgrade, plus postage [$3 postage within the USA / $6 for Canada].
This seems like a possible artwork for a complete collection. Though I do think they may go with something different. I will be double dipping on this (and passing on the upgrade program).

Glad to hear they're going to be doing the upgrade program again. But you have to imagine what they're going to do with all of these discs they get back.

I'm happy enough with my cour sets, but this isn't really any basis for comparison.
I have zero interest in dub tracks or commentary tracks by dubbing staff, so this is all academic...

Haven't they gone and fixed up subtitle errors on these complete sets? Dubs don't interest me in the slightest, but I am getting these because they're improved releases.

If they have, it's apparently been done only in an incomplete fashion. Someone did confirm for me, for example, that the typo in the ED romaji subs that was copypasta'ed throughout all of the first series in the sub-only sets remains in the dubbed complete collection. I don't (yet) own the first season complete collection, so I can't say directly if anything else was fixed.
Titles like Princess Resurrection and the first Hidamari Sketch collection were the more egregious offenders; I have no idea if anything was fixed for the Princess Resurrection complete collection. When ADV was still ADV, they did have a good habit of fixing subtitle errors when shows were re-released, but they also had more resources at the time. While I'd very much welcome a fresh pair of eyes on the After Story subtitles, I'd also be very surprised if it happened and anything changed.

The dialog subtitles were cleaned up but it's been shown that typos in the romaji song translations remained.

The After Story subtitles were much better than the ones in season 1 to begin with, though. The only issues I can remember were in the recap-episode... and thus I don't really give a damn. Specifically, they once said "Your friend, Fu-chan" even though Tomoya's VA clearly said "Fuko-chan", and they referred to the supporting character Koumura as "Yukimura". Which is a pretty blatant error, but like I said, being in the one episode of the series I have no interest in rewatching means that I couldn't care less.

Same here. Actually, I wouldn't mind the place holder artwork. I actually like it quite a bit and it seems it would fit the show well. However, I do have a soft spot for the linked cover. It's a beautiful image, but it just doesn't mesh well with what Sentai used before.

While I like the artwork, I don't really think this is appropriate for a cover. I think something else will be used.

I can't wait to get this! The placeholder art would be fine with me for a cover but it seems kinda bland somehow.
Bah, since they are catering to my tastes with the English dub and commentary and I liked the first season, this is a sure-buy. Can't say I give a dang about this apparently very serious mistake in the song subs either. ;)
Personally I'm just glad I'm getting this the way I wanted it. As a consumer of anime, as someone who pays money for it, that's a goal.

The oh some familiar JP BD boxset placeholder artowork. I guess it's okay, but it feels like there could be other choices. Nagisa just look lonely by herself. :sd: And I this pre-ordered from the current studio sale.

I'm kind of surprised if that is the actual cover, but I think I'm quite happy with it if it is. That piece of artwork is beautiful and probably one of my favorites, and I'd love to have it on the DVD collection. I just preordered this day before yesterday (along with the movie, which I will be trying for the first time).

Oh, now that's some awesome picture! VERY beautiful.
Not so sure if it's the best way to go for the collection though, but it's certainly pretty to look at.

It's hard to say. YUA Season 2 didn't get one. It used this. It's still unknown on how they determine which release get one.

I wish everyone would, though it seems all the R1's are going to something with overlapping discs for re-releases. It beats a stack pack though.
I have to say the updated cover is beautiful. Once again I appreciate that Sentai puts some art on the spine. I hate plain spines with just the title.

Were the bonus episodes out of order on the original release of After Story? Or was that the first series? Or am I just bonkers?
In any case, I wasn't a huge fan of the previous cover art, so I'm glad Sentai went with this change.

Also, episodes 24 (recap) and 25 (Kyou's Another World episode) are swapped in order, although obviously it doesn't matter since they're entirely unrelated.

Really? I suppose that it's nice that Nagisa's a little larger in the revised cover from ADV, but I don't like the haze up near the ceiling and behind her in the image. It's dulling the colors too much, even if it does make the title a bit more obvious... I hope that the new English dub mentioned at the top is better than the old Engl... ...
With this cover art, the ADV C:AS collected release doesn't seem to offer me anything that I won't be getting with the BD box that's due out in 6-7 weeks, so I'll pass. If they'd chosen another piece of spectacular artwork, there'd be a _very_ slight chance that I'd get it just to gaze at it. ^_-

Yeah, I just got my confirmation email. USPS says Saturday, but I almost always get RSi stuff very fast, so I almost expect it sooner. I'll probably just go straight to THAT episode and see if they nailed what will cement my impression of the dub for better or worse.

I was watching some Clannad yesterday and getting the discs out was incredibly difficult so I'm hoping for like.. something good?
This obviously doesn't change my decision to buy it either way. I just want to be prepared.

Mine was shipped and I should have it the day after tomorrow, honestly I can't see why everybody hates stack packs so much. I'll admit that it's a bit harder to get to the last disc when you have to remove the 3 above it-but still its not that hard to do. I've seen some of those case designs that shoehorn 6 discs into a case the size of a standard amaray case and are like a chinese jigsaw puzzle.

Well, just got it in today. Economy shipping from RightStuf is usually pretty fast, but I think this is like the fastest its ever been (how nice for it to happen on a greatly anticipated title).
It looks very consistent with the way the first series was released. It's a stackpack and the disc art is different from the sub-only release (all the images that weren't used on it, which is nice).

I don't think they have. My guess (particularly with it being like that on both releases despite correct ordering on the menu this time) is that it was a weird requirement by the Japanese licensor. Who knows...

I got my copy today, I really like the artwork. As for the STACKpak issue shortly after the new collection for Clannad season 1 was released I purchased several M-Lock brick cases to replace my ADV/Section23 collections that were released in STACKpaks. When I bought some of the 4 disc cases I purchased an extra one just in the event Sentai decided to release a dub collection for After Story. They fit nicely in the R3 artboxes with the two sub only releases.
