Just thought a topic dedicated to the Store could be useful. Many people here have PS3's and the store has been getting much more stuff every weeks recently.
We can use this to talk new downloadable games, demos, videos, stuff on sale, recommendations and even the video store.

I like this idea... cause I'm interested in a lot of the games and content. I'd really like to get the Soldner games and Noby Noby Boy cause they look like hella fun....

So i'll start it up with asking for recommendations/opinions on a few games. Last tuesday a great sale popped up and it ends tomorrow. 11 games, mostly all very good, for half price. I have a few of these already.
So i have $23 and can afford about 3. My choices are down to 4 (well, maybe 6).
Costume Quest
DeathSpank 2 ToV
Shatter
Space Invaders Infinity Gene
and maybe Hoard + Swords and Soldiers.
As for DeathSpank ToV, i have the first one though i haven't played it yet. But i'm confident i'll enjoy it enough to want the sequel when i get around to it.
And i'm definitely sure i want Shatter at $4.
So i'm left with choosing 2 out of Costume Quest, DeathSpank 2 and Space Invaders. I really want all 3, so the choice will be tough.
Any recommendations or opinions on them would be very highly appreciated.
And if anyone has anything to say about Hoard and Swords and Soldiers, that would also be great. They both look like good fun, though i'm not sure they'd be worth it as much as my first choices...

Noby Noby Boy is kinda dumb i thought. I got it since it was a sort of Katamari sequel which made it a must play and the fact it was dirt cheap. I'm glad i have it but i never even found the desire to get back to it to complete the pretty easy trophies...
As for the Soldner-X games, i highly recommend both of them. If you can find pleasure in playing hardcore schmups, do get them. Now. I played a shitload of both games, and i still plan to play both of them. The sequel moreso, cause it might be hard to get back to the first at this point plus i bought the sequel's expension. Also, Soldner-X 2 is currently in the half price sale so if you have any interest, get it right away!

Costume Quest
Here's the thread (http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=103752&highlight=costume+quest) to check out people's opinion. But I really enjoyed Costume Quest, it was simple and fun.

DeathSpank 2 ToV
Shatter
Space Invaders Infinity Gene

Costume Quest is ok, but nothing altogether special. I didn't like what I played of the demo for the original DeathSpank, and I don't remember either game being favorably reviewed. Shatter is excellent and I highly recommend it. I didn't like the demo of Space Invaders Infinity Gene, but I have heard good things about it from people who played the full version. I might end up picking up that one myself. I never played Hoard, and Swords & Soldiers was nothing special on Wii.
I'm kind of surprised the mods are allowing this thread to continue. I'm fine with it myself, but I distinctly remember trying to create a Virtual Console/WiiWare thread here that was shot down because it was decreed that there be no more "all in one" threads.

Costume Quest and it's sequel dlc are both fantastic IMO, great humor.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I went with my first idea and got Costume Quest, Space Invaders Infinity Gene and Shatter. All 3 for a mere $16.50. I love psn and xbla sales :bowsmiley:. A real shame the stuff on the Wii never gets on sale, or i would have over a hundred games over there by now...
Did anyone try the Bulletstorm demo? Game looks cool but gameplay seems limited/repetitive and while i like bad language, this seems way overdone making it almost childish in a way...But i heard the demo was great fun so i don't know.
I wonder what will pop up tomorrow. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 sees release this week on xbla so maybe psn also get it this week?

Stacking is out this week. $15, looks great and got pretty good reviews. But as usual, i'll wait for it to be on sale, no hurry to play it and mostly all games eventually gets on sale.
Then there's Explodemon which looks pretty cool for $10. Like a mix of classic MegaMan with some Splosion Man thrown in. If anyone has some opinions about it bring it on, haven't seen any reviews yet.
Then it's the usual mix of demos, previews and almost nothing at all on sale this week which is a shame.
Oh and i got a question which is sorta related to PS+. Say i buy a 3 months subscription. This month Stacking is free for PS+ people. Will i have the game for only this month, or as long as i'm subscribed to PS+ or forever? And if it's only for while i'm subscribed, what if i re-subscribe a month after my current subscription ends, will i be able to then re-dowbnload the game for free? And finally, does this work the same for the free monthly PS1 game?

I picked up Explodemon the other night, and after completing the first level I'm not sure if I like it or not. There's a certain wonkiness to how the game controls, with circle used as the attack/double-jump/dash button (which is really awkward to hit when you're trying to spring off walls). There's also a certain generic-ness to the world that reminds me of old Genesis games like Vectorman and whatnot.

As long as you remain as a subscriber you get to keep it.
And if it's only for while i'm subscribed, what if i re-subscribe a month after my current subscription ends, will i be able to then re-dowbnload the game for free?
I don't believe so, since the games alternate every month. You'll lose that game, since it's no longer available for free.
And finally, does this work the same for the free monthly PS1 game?
Yes! It's the same for all of the free content.

However, as long as the game is on your hard drive, I believe you don't need to redownload it when the subscription ends (it's just that you have to renew the PS+ subscription to be able to access the game).

Actually, all the Plus games you've downloaded remain in your download history and can be redownloaded from there at any time. That said, there does currently appear to be an issue with the Plus software that causes some people to lose access to their old content both on their drives and in the download history if they let the subscription lapse and then resubscribe at a later date, but Sony have acknowledged the problem and are working to fix it.

Well thanks for all the info. I was hoping i could get a 3 months subscription and get Stacking free, plus all the other free games there'll be in these 3 months then not re-new and still keep these games forever. Yeah, wishful thinking i know. Had to make sure.

After watching the Quick Look at Giant Bomb, i totally thought the game world looked utterly generic. Still looks fun though. Guess i'll wait for it to be on sale and then buy it.
And hey, Vectorman was awesome!

That's why I'm not a member. I really can't convince myself that I want to pay for DRM-based rentals -- it just doesn't seem right.

I found the demo to be pretty boring. As usual, Double-Fine has a good concept and spectacularly underwhelming execution. Like Costume Quest, there's a lot of Amateur Hour design decisions as well, such as the inability to skip the lengthy cutscenes.

There was quite an amount of content released this week that I'm interested in:
Acceleration of SUGURI X Edition - Since Microsoft utterly destroyed the Senko no Ronde franchise in the US (even before hitting the shelves), I've been craving another game like it. And this doujin game looks to fit the bill. There's no demo, so I'm just going to plunk down $6 and see how awesome it is.
Back to the Future: The Game - Played the quick demo, and I'm really torn of this. I like the movie franchise, and the voice acting in the game is pretty good. But the animations of the character models are really bad. And I've never liked ttg's art direction to begin with. But I do like the type of adventure game this is... so I really don't know what I'm going to do.
Destrega (PSone classic) - My first reaction, "Of all the games in the PSone library, and of all the games already up on the JP store, we get this one?" But then I thought "wait, was this game awesome? ...like in a bad way?" I really don't remember, and unless I hear some good things about it, I'm not spending 6 bucks to find out.

Let us know if Acceleration of SUGURI X Edition is good! It looks quite weird and crazy.
Back to the Future will eventually be a purchase for me, because it's TTG and BttF. Can't go wrong here and it's just $20 for all 5 episodes. I liked the behind the scenes they've been showing.
As for sales, Tales of Monkey Island is at a ridiculously low $9.99, so i'm getting it for sure! Both Alien Breed titles are $7, but i'll probably wait for them to drop at $5...

I tried the demo last night and thought it was pretty good so far. For some reason the voice for Biff doesn't fit that good. Thankfully the guy playing Marty sounds just like Micheal J. Fox. The game it self is looks like it will be pretty fun. I may wait untill all the rest of the chapters are released before buying the whole game.

I'm actually playing Back to the Future on the PC, as I preordered the season last year. The games are good, but just prepare yourselves because the puzzles are absurdly simple by Adventure Game standards. The episodes are more like CG-animated movies with the occasional button click than "games", per say.

Siliconera is reporting that Legend of Mana will be an NA PlayStation Classic in the near future (likely next week).
http://www.siliconera.com/2011/03/15/parasite-eve-ii-mutates-for-psn-re-release/
They also report that we will be seeing Parasite Eve 2 sometime in the near future as well.
I couldn't care less about Legend of Mana (I don't like the first game, and that's supposedly the last game before the series "went downhill"), but I could see myself picking up Parasite Eve 2.

Can't remember if I liked Legend of Mana or not, but definitely picking up PE2.
And still waiting on that Dewprism release.

The only Mana game i like is Secret of Mana and the Wii has me covered on this. Didn't like the PS1 or GBA ones. And i've lost hope of any sort of a NA release for Densetsu 3...
Parasite Eve 2 is cool. After the first one getting released, it was clear Square would release the sequel to go with the upcoming PSP 3rd. I'll check out on eBay if the PS1 original is expensive and will decide if i rebuy it this way or download it on PSN.

In my case, I remember enjoying it over all. I think I even replayed it a few times back in the day. Yeah, that much I'm sure of.
In any case, I just got the game a short while ago and can now play it on the PSP. So much for the idea of not getting a game a second time around.

I'll pass on Legend of Mana for now...but Tetris for $5 is a great deal i won't miss. It's apparently one one the better Tetris titles too.
Also the new Ghostbusters is up for $10. I might pick it up if it gets good reviews.

Yeah, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, an overhead, 4-person shooter, somewhat in the mold of Robotron or Smash TV.
I downloaded the demo and found it pretty boring: the action is lacking in fun, and level progression is tedious and repetitive; it's built around co-op not skill, since you get swarmed by enemies, knocked unconscious, and will need to be revived by another player or AI buddy (I never actually died, though); and the graphics, at times, reminded me way too much of something on the PSX or Saturn.
It's cheap, of course, but I'd definitely try the demo before buying.
