Couldn't find the old Demon's Souls thread, but nevertheless:

Debut Trailer for Dark Souls (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/debut-trailer-dark-souls/710099)

It isn't clear if this is going to be a sequel, or more like a spiritual successor.

Either way, I'm ready to die. :)

Question. Is this an action/adventure game? Or is this an RPG?

It looks really awesome but I'm not familiar with the first game other than by the title...

It's an action RPG. All real-time. Also, it's only a spiritual successor, not a direct sequel. Crazy thing: they're saying that they're making it much harder than Demon's Souls. :sweat:

Anyway, i'll be happy to be slayed by this game when it comes out around here. Though i still have to get back to try and beat Demon's Souls...

Damn straight it's hard. You have to be on your toes ALL THE TIME. Just lowering your guard/looking off the tv while turning a corner can easily mean your death. Often.

But it's extremely good and rewarding. And most people say that when you get down to it and beat the first couple levels, you can manage to get through the game nicely if you play it properly with the right mindset.

I just started this yesterday, the boss in the tutorial killed me, but I already feel addicted.

It's possible to kill the tutorial boss, and be rewarded with some souls and a nice surprise! :devil:

Damn, should I restart or not? It's only going to be harder on New Game+, but I've already played for a few hours. Decisions, decisions...

I was setting out to do so, but that guy's NUTS. If the new game's supposed to be harder, this could be...painful. :P

Nah, you don't get THAT many more souls; you'll be fine. But the cinematic is pretty cool. You can also look it up on youtube if you want.

I did my first playthrough getting killed by that guy.

Yeah, armor is basically worthless against it. I un-equip my armor and go in commando. (for the agility/roll boost) The main strategy is to roll towards his axe hand/arm when he attacks; and you should always avoid that attack.

Edit: Maybe someone should start a new Demon's Souls thread :sweat:

Demon's Souls is still the #1 game of the current generation by far to me. I'm all over this.
