It looks like the rumors about Gradius for PS3 have been officially shot down courtesy of Famitsu. (http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/02/16/ps3_gradius_cancelled/) I guess we can always hope for one on another platform. :(

Second time it's been cancelled :P I don't think anyone was seriously expecting it to still be an active project at the stage. Watch it pop up as an XBLA exclusive by the end of the year.

A 3DS Gradius would be cool...ooh! Konami! Solar Assault 3D! You know you want to!

Even as one who has barely played the series if at all, I can't help but wonder why. Are they against a new Gradius game in general? Do they hate the idea of Gradius being for the PS3? Is Sony the one causing the problem?
It just seems kind of odd to me. It's probably worse for actual fans of the series that may have been looking forward to it. Hopefully for the sake of the developers of Gradius, this won't make their fanbase bitter.

Wow, i wasn't even aware of that. Sad to hear though. I love this series so much. Played all the games and a shit ton of G V on PS2. I can only imagine a PS3 made Gradius...

The Revoltechs coming out are such a tease. They're even making one of Vic Viper (which better be able to transform)

Gradius V on the PS2 was great. I'd like even something like that in HD.

No great loss. It'd probably be pretty bad unless they shopped it out to Treasure again. Konami is a shell of its former self, and I wouldn't trust them to develop a good shmup when their last "effort" was Otomedius.
