While I'm more than a little skeptical of the certainty of games coming over to NA just because the ESRB rated them (remember when they rated Earthbound for the Virtual Console? Yeah...that ended well...), Sony has a pretty good track record with them on PS1 games. I've never played any of the Parasite Eve games, so I'm looking forward to this one sitting on my backlog shelf alongside Xenogears, FF Tactics, and Grandai as games I'll get around to playing...eventually.

I thought the story was pretty interesting, and Aya is certainly nice to look at even when pixellated, but I found the gameplay systems rather clunky. I don't think either I or my daughter ever made it all the way to the end of this game.

PE has a lot of inventory management; not one of my favorite activities in a game.

Very smart move in releasing this game soon, given how the 3rd Birthday is coming to the PSP next month (hopefully, Sony will release the game before March 29 to give players a chance to experience the world of Parasite Eve before the 3rd Birthday's U.S. release).

Well, after a week of crappy PS1 Disney games on PSN, it looks like we're back to PS1 Square-Enix titles. The Playstation Blog has just released their list of titles coming out this week, and the first Parasite Eve is this week's PS1 Classic. It will cost $5.99. Nice. I'm surprised at the lack of a Square tax, given that 3rd Birthday will release soon.

Those disney games actually aren't that crappy. They're pretty well made and I know for a fact that a bugs life is pretty fun. I wish they were releasing Parasite Eve 2 as well though because I haven't played it.

You're not missing anything with Parasite Eve 2. The game sucks after the first mission.

Anyway, this is good news, but I still have my PS1 copy, so I have no need for it. I wish they would either bring back BC for PS2 games though or just start putting PS2 games on the PSN so I can play them on there.
