Hey everyone,

Been out of touch for the past few months due to the big move. I just got myself a new computer with my 1st-ever widescreen monitor. Been searching for anime wallpapers (in widescreen sizes) one would download from official Japanese sites but so far, I've not come across any. I remember them being somewhat common in the past but not lately.

Not interested in anime wallpaper sites...just what the official company sites have as downloads. Maybe we could put together a list of such links here, if permitted?

Ehhh...

I would actually just suggest going to Danbooru and finding a high-res image you like and cropping to fit.

Also Konachan.

Just beware of NSFW images.

You can even search danbooru for "official_art wallpaper" or "official_art width:1920" etc.

That's what I've always done. Most wallpapers made with being wallpapers in mind are either 1) overloaded with gaudy photoshop effects and text or 2) much too low res for most people. The latter has always affected official art, though I think it's gradually becoming less of an issue.

Definitely know what he means about 4:3 though... Fractale (http://fractale-anime.com/special.html#content_wp) for example - wtf, why are the resolutions only 4:3? It's completely insane to not offer widescreen. Not that I planned to use any of those, but seriously, what were they thinking? I'm sure people have widescreen monitors in Japan. >_>
