Mania Grade: C+
In Summary:
Considering how the first season went, I didn't exactly go into this with high expectations. It's the kind of show that I can't imagine watching one by one and really getting a lot of out of. It's the kind of show where you need to watch it all at once and just get overwhelmed by the simplicity of story and the bluntness of ts perverted nature. And then to watch the incredibly blunt OVA that has an octopus in it whose sole purpose is to tear bathing suits off of girls. The show does surprise in having two stories that actually work fairly well in tying everything together, but Shin Koihime Muso is all about the journey rather than the destination. And this is realized each time it reaches a destination as it's fairly bland overall. There's definitely things to like here as much like the first season the character designs are really good and I enjoy a show that doesn't hold back when it wants to be perverted, but you really have to be ready for it and know exactly what you're getting into. There's no subtlety here.
