Anime Draft 2011: Round 12 voting

Barrelling to the end, comes to us, the last installment of the main draft. Will the winner stay as it was in prior rounds, or will we have someone sneak in? Those who are logged in can help to decide that!

Again, a decent list, but easier to narrow it down, basically one list had Uguu and...that was it. Again, another character that fell off the radar that is pure love. Vote two however was much harder - Hayate, Meiling and Sanae all deserve some love, but I decided in the end to go for a character that really hasn't been shown in her respective manga series, yet in the anime actually really helps a certain sister out in exploring her feelings, and is utter utter love.

So vote three goes to Chika.

Well this was easy because there are only three characters that I know and like:

Sango and Meiling would have been been contenders in any competition. Akari, though I do like her, really got in by default.

That I voted for a male character shows how hard pressed I was for votes. I like Hayate and HtCB is one of my favorite anime and manga... but not enough for him to trump girls I like more than a tiny bit. Ayu (Kanon) is cute, but I'm just don't have much of an attachment to her at all. Shiki's series is fantastic and I like her and she's pretty awesome, but its the same issue as with Ayu. And Shino and Sanae are only slightly ahead of Ayu and Shiki. They are both very amusing in their shows, but they would have had no chance against characters I liked more in any of the other rounds.

I feel bad for Porco Rosso, he was up against some tough competition.

There's only one trap for me, and it's not Hideyoshi (nor is it Hayate, actually). He's still a hoot from what I saw of BakaTest, but he's the first to go. I like Ayu & her taiyaki (mis)adventures, but I like a few of the others more, so she's next. Sadly, Anemone is next. I really liked her despite being such a psychotic bitch and her poor treatment of Dominic, but the final three characters really stood out:

First vote is once again for my own character, the "Demon Slayer" Sango who travels around the land to exterminate demons as if they were harmful insects. Second vote was easy and it is for "Taiyaki Thief" Ayu Tsukimiya. If anybody has mastered the art of taking taiyaki away, it is her. Uguu. And for my final vote of the game, I went back and forth between the Meiling and Hayate. But what decided it for me was that I had yet to vote for someone from Team Awesomesox, and so "Combat Butler" Hayate Ayasaki, a.k.a. Hermione, gets the third and final vote. Now that all of my voting is done, it will soon be time to make preparations for the upcoming VA draft.

I was expecting Ayu to place very high in round 12. It's nice to win a round again. Haruko came close in the 10th. After seeing Fuuko get second to Ruri-Ruri in a battle for the top spot in round 11, I feel that I made the right choice to save Ayu for this round. If I would have drafted Ayu in round 11, I would have most likely ended up hurting both Ayu and Fuuko in the voting and Ruri would have won in a runaway there.:sweat:

Sango finished in the middle of the pack, which is where I was expecting her to finish. I had a feeling Ayu would run away with the win in this round. So congrats to Victor for winning this round. I thank everyone who voted for the Demon Slayer.

Now that the draft is over, there will be one more Rapid Fire segment that will come once Dunno puts up the post-draft thread.

If you had drafted Ayu in round 11, it would have either ended up hurting Fuuko or Ruri. Since I put Ayu above both of them.

I'd have likely leaned toward Fuuko since she's fresher in my mind. That and there are other aspects as well. Even so it would be a tough choice.

I really wasn't expecting to remain in the top three very long, but all of my new-to-the-draft choices ended up doing pretty decently, with Shiori, Saori, and Jun being near the middle of the results (happy there were quite a few others that enjoyed those characters) and Noël and Meiling quite frankly surprised me and got me a strong second place. I know CCS is pretty popular around here already (and rightly so), but I'm happy Meiling also still gets a lot of support among the characters. Her character development is one of the more interesting things about the series to me. Thanks to all of those who played the draft and voted. It was lots of fun. :)

Pretty happy with the win, like I said in the signup thead... I'm in.. want to improve on my performance from last draft... and going from #2 to #1 certainly did that. As for where I expected to finish.. I'll be lying if I said I didn't expect to finish top two... I thought if I was within ten points by the end of round 8 I had this... Shiki was a risky pick but KnK is my fav anime period of the last 4 years and I really wanted to draft her last AD... I knew that Ayu would go close to winning that round but she's nowhere near my fav Kanon girl.. I also knew that Misato, Saki, Tomoya, Kotomi and quite a few others would've scored better...

Anyway I was also pretty happy I was able to win this draft selecting characters (Faye aside) I've always wanted to draft but was never able to. I think I was the 4th last person to enter the draft and being able to select Lafiel with a pick that far down was pretty awesome.. I didn't even expect her to still be their.. Getting Lelouch and Revy was also pretty awesome.. those two along with Lafiel are usually gone by the time I even put my entry list in.

There was a few characters I wanted to pick like Beatrice... but I didn't want to get them earlier than I thought they should've gone. I intended to pick Asuka but got greedy and kept on letting her drop and drop and drop... didn't work out but it did with Ruri... I would've picked those two before round 6 if I was going with who I wanted the most.

Anyway I think the last two runners ups has won the next draft so put your money on Brandon for the next one.

I think I'll try and draft all new characters that I really want again next year.. unfortunately two of the ones I want the most are both guaranteed to go in the first round... tail and fascination...
