Mania Grade: C
In Summary:
Level E continues to be an unusual show in that you really have no idea what each new episode will bring. This one takes us back to the Color Ranger kids for a bit so there's some ambivalence there on my part since I'm not a fan of them. The story itself is alright as they deal with some intergalactic poachers with a connection to the merchandise they're trying to sell but it's the epitome of a standalone episode. Nothing really affects anything else, not that this series has any deeper meaning anyway, and it's all pretty self contained. There are good moments to be had here, though the bit when the mermaid confronts her hunters feels out of place, and there's an otherworldly feeling that much of the show gives off. I still shake my head over the Color Rangers kids costumes though, which is even harder to take in when you feel as sick as I do.
