Video Game Draft 2011: Round 4 Voting

Yes, I still have to actually post scores and such. However before that I think now is a good time to post round 4. Nothing like waking up to the rests of Round 2 and realizing the power of green and pink.

As per usual, anon votes will not be counted. Poll will last about seven days. Voting will come up shortly assuming I run into no issues.

The only character that I'm familiar with is Chris Redfield of Resident Evil, so he gets my only vote this round.

I really :beatingheart: Flonne a lot, so she's a definite vote this round. Magus joining the party was one of the coolest unexpected surprises in my early video game playing history (I remember being really excited over that since I killed him the first time I played and didn't suspect he was playable by refusing to fight him...). Alicia gets a vote because I like her and VP2 really needs some love.

Vivi and Gemini are instavotes, so it's Magus vs Rinoa for my last vote. I never did finish FFVIII (though I got oh so close) and I need to restart it someday, so Magus it is.

Drake is one of my favorite characters from the past couple years, so I definitely had to vote for him. I also had to pick my drafted character, Ezio, another one of my favorite recent characters. That left Magus and Rinoa, as much as I love Magus FFVIII is one of my favorite games of all time, so I had to go with Rinoa.

Hazama - Nothing speaks louder than words, especially from some corporeal being that likes to talk trash while rubbing salt in your wounds.
Kazuma Kiryuu - A man among men in the world of the Yakuzas.
Ezio - A man among thieves and asssassins in the world of the Rennainsance.

I was throwing up between Chris and Ezio, but since Capcom has warped the Resident Evil franchise into something else, I'll have to say no to Chris at this point.

I have to admit sometimes I wish we could create a clone of you that's sole purpose would be to play video games and transmit the experience to you through advanced technology.

Seriously, Velvet is awesome and probably the best of the five playable characters. She's also making the decision for the third vote a bit challenging. Yeah, she's one of the contenders.

Flonne is my favorite Disgaea character so of course she gets my vote. I briefly considered Rinoa, but, to be honest, whatever feelings I had for her have since dissipated. And since I'm not familiar with any other non-male characters in this round, that's it.

Alicia gets my vote because she's my draft character, and because she's super totally awesome. Next vote goes to Princess Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear because I like her name, and more importantly, she's a really awesome character. She's really pretty to boot, and she's voiced by Stephanie Sheh. Final vote goes to Vivi as I really like the little guy. His sad face during the black mage slaughter scene still breaks my heart. Apologies go to Flonne as I really like the nin-nin-ninja but ran out of votes.

I guess you can blame JackC for that (even though my pick was before theirs this round), 'cause as soon as he picked Drake; I did the biggest facepalm to date and realized my folly. But it's my first time doing a draft, so I was bound to make a mistake somewhere.

Anywho, this was the first "easy" round for me to pick. Nathan is awesome, Flonne is Love, and Velvet is the quite possibly the hottest game character ever designed.

Gemini, the Samurai Cowgirl - almost any Sakura Taisen character gets an instavote from me, and Gemini's in the top 6. Even though she wasn't as awesome in V as she was in episode 0 for most of the game.

The princess of healing, archery and awesome stays because she's my character. Also, because I say so. That takes care of one slot.

Our second slot goes to Presea because she was nice to use in battle, she has an Axe, and she's one of my favorites in the world of Tales.

The final vote was a tough decision. Flonne is adorable and she does have some fun story moments in the original Disgaea. I'm sure there are plenty more of these in later games and maybe one day I'll play of them.


However I feel compelled to give the vote to the best girl in Odin Sphere. Awesome Voice. Awesome Outfit. Awesome Weapon. Plus, she had some rather nice story moments. There the third vote is obligated to go to Velvet.

Sorry Flonne, you almost made it, but that's just the way things go. Yeah, I know I'll regret not voting for her. However had I voted for her, I would have regretted not voting for Velvet. Such is the way of life.

I'm pretty late with Disgaea, having only played it last year (got it because I loved La Pucelle, and that one was randomly introduced to me by a friend). I have 2 for the PSP but still haven't started playing it yet.
