I have Street Fighter II, the ADV collection. Virtua Fighter (MB never completed). Natsuki Crisis (Japanese LD). Tekken.

Are there any older shows that might appeal to me apart from FoTNS & FoTBS?

I thought Grappler Baki: The Ultimate Fighter OVA was decent, it's a single 45-minute OVA from the 90s. I haven't seen the Baki TV series from 2006.

Although not really old (2003-2004 airing), have you tried Air Master?

I just had to say Fatal Fury, since you already have the other game-related series :catgirl:.

But besides that title, I thought Yawara is a fun show.

And it's good, with a hilariously cheesy dub.

I have Street Fighter II, the ADV collection. . .
The U.S. version (which used to be on tv), with Guile as the protagonist? Where he led the "Street Fighter" team against the forces of M. Bison?

There are also a number of Japanese Street Fighter titles. S.F. II V is a four disk series about Ken and Ryu "road-tripping" around the world, looking for strong fighters to test their skills against. And for a series based on a video game, its surprisingly realistic (neither Ken nor Ryu know their chi attacks at the start and actually fairly good.

And there a couple of movies - not quite as good. They tend to be one shots, bringing in characters from the other Street Fighter titles. Sci-Fi shows them occasionally, if you want to check them out.

Oh, and if you like the Street Fighter stuff (both U.S. and Japanese), take a look at Dark Stalkers - which was kind of a horror version. The Japanese version (considered the better one) involves a warrior mage (tainted with vampire blood) travelling the world in search of a rogue vampire lord. And the U.S. version features an apprentice wizard and an alien conquerer competing to win the loyalty of the various other characters (merman, succubus, cursed samurai . . . ), in a bid for world domination. And while the U.S. version is campier, its still fun

No love for Samurai Showdown? Perhaps because it was terrible?

Almost forgot - have you seen Rurouni Kenshin yet? If not, its definitely worth a look. One night, after carving a path of death and destruction during the Meiji Restoration, the feared "Battousi the Manslayer" simply . . . disappeared. Years later, a wandering swordsman named Kenshin stumbles upon a town where that dreaded samurai has started killing again . . .

If you don't mind period pieces, and like a fairly realistic (no chi powers, but some borderline unbelievable techniques) approach to combat, Rurouni Kenshin might well be up your alley.

Another - more fantastic -title might be Mobile Fighter G Gundam, which manages to combine giant robot duels with chi-using martial artists. Every four years, each colony-nation sends their latest mecha to Earth, piloted by their finest martial artist (via a motion tracking system). The nation who's pilot wins gains hegemony over the Earth and its colonies for the next four years. But this year, something is different - the Japanese fighter is clearly looking for someone . . .

G Gundam can be a little silly at times (Mexico's Tequila Gundam, the Dutch Windmill Gundam), but its still a fun title. There are some hints that G Gundam was supposed to be a lot darker and more film noir-ish than it turned out, but overall the feel is pretty consistent.

It's not really the same type of show as your list, nor is it old, but I'll throw out History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi. Or, was the american release named Kenichi, History's Strongest Disciple?

Well, either way, it had quite a bit of martial arts action in it. Characters are mostly high schoolers though. And (slightly) more realistic than anything based on video games :D

Kenichi: the Mightiest Disciple. I just finished watching season 1 on Netflix and enjoyed it, even though I don't usually watch fighting shows.

It does seem much more realistic than shows like Ikki Tousen and Tenjho Tenge. The main character starts with no skills whatsoever and learns techniques one by one.

The opponents fight with normal attacks, instead of the cliche one special technique that they inexplicably hold back until the last part of the battle.
