Oh my god, could Kasuga have been any cuter? I want one for my very own.
Indeed, so much. She's rather pretty whether in cute or cool mode... I do wonder what will be up with her trying to defeat her "weak-loving" side. Also, is it just me, or is she the bustiest of all the girls we've seen so far? Well, a few scenes seemed to emphasize them at least. :)

I thought the new OP was pretty uninspiring - hopefully the single will be another insane 8-minute long thing:sd:
Nothing to complain about in the actual episode, though. I particularly liked the DQ-styled recap at the start.

...Well, I guess if she... Uh... Well, what if she were to... Hmm, no that wouldn't work... But then she...
...No. She couldn't possibly be any cuter than she already is.
Well, that aside, that was a rather comical way to reintroduce the series. Also, hey, that 8-bit theme was from the remix-CD that came with the BluRays! I didn't expect that to actually be used in the series...
Anyways, this was totally the best part of the episode. (http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/Zeldamaniac/OkayPNG.png) Especially with that silly singing in the background.

Well, that's true, but I was disappointed even after having set myself up for it.
Them starting with the chiptune version of the season 1 OP just felt like they were rubbing it in!

I loved the beginning recap. Overall it was a really good way to get back into the show. Kasuga is a great way to start the season. This seems pretty easy for him, but let's see how difficult she makes it on him.

OP is okay, not nearly as good as the first season's.
So much Elsie adorableness. I loved watching her whack Keima in the face when she was trying to protect him.
The strong, serious girl that secretly likes cute things isn't exactly breaking new ground in character types, but it plays out pretty nicely and there's a nice twist to the situation near the end. She's very cute once her weakness for cute things is out in the open and she starts discussing it with Keima.

Oh god Kasuga's adorable. And very much a Koshimizu Ami character.
OP is...odd, will need to hear the full version.
Kinda surprised we leaped right into a capture arc though, but its shaping up nicely.

Looking @ the sales for Kami Nomi season 1.. I guess I'm just being silly at seeing the omission of someone from this season (based on the trailer from like 8 months ago) as a sign that a 3rd season could be made...
Than again looking @ their sales...
MANGLOBE
*3,097 *3 Kami Nomizo Shiru Sekai
2146 6 Seiken no Blacksmith
2218 13 Samurai Champloo
1998 9 Ergo Proxy
And I don't even know if Michiko to Hatchin and Sarai-ya Goyou even ranked... bring on season 3 Manglobe, at least you can somewhat break even with this series!
Oh well at least they're getting the Hayate movie as well as maybe the 3rd TV series (unless it jumps ship again to someone else after the movie). Hope these guys get a hit one day... Deadland Wonderland won't be it...

I knew the new opening couldn't be as epic as "God only Knows." Even so, I'm still disappointed.
Ah. This character type.
Grr. Keima made Elsie cry.
Tough exterior. Likes cute things. Can't admit it. It's basically standard.
Well, not having taste isn't standard.
Elsie, I know you want to play too, but you're not helping.

--Thius opening would probably be a massive nerd moment if I cared about Dragon Quest at all.
Hehehe. Okay the 4 girls from last season as enemy sprites is cute.
-Nerd Core. Does this mean the OP will be some nerd rap? I guess not.
-Keima is being attacked by Lick Broccoli and friends.
-Kick some parsley Sakaki looking girl.
-Kitty~ Damn she is Sakaki.
-YURI! DOUBLE! <3
-Kitty + cleavage = 10000 moe points
-Kitty! NOOO!
-The power of the kitten compels you.
-"I'm having trouble pooping." hehehe
It's good to see Keima again. He's a fussy little fellow. But can his 2D girl conquest powers stack up against a fiery god of violence?

I thought the same at first, though upon listening to it a few more times, I'm actually starting to really like it... Also, and I can't believe I didn't notice this before... I'm pretty sure that second singer is Lia. This obviously also helped improve my opinion of the opening, as she's kind of awesome.
But yeah, I'm fairly certain we'll be getting another insane 8-minute long thing this time around too. The TV-size mix certainly has the same frequent tone-and-tempo-changes the first opening did...

- Heh I like the recap bit. And man, that's the second show this season to use the revival spell joke...
- OP is pretty decent, though it's hard to outdo the first seasons'.
- Elsieeeeee!
- Well, this new girl is going to be a bit difficult...
- Or maybe not. She, of course, has a weakness for cute things.
- Throwing a cat off a balcony because you can't resist its cuteness? :sd: Well, she is possessed by an evil loose soul thing.
- Adorable outfit for the not-date.
Pretty good start. I like Kusunoki's cute side - need more!

Count me in as anyone one who really likes the new OP, also I really don't remember all this massive praise for the first OP until the full 8 minute length version came out. Personally my fav part out of both TV OPs is when Elsie bursts onto the scene in the first one but comparing TV SIZE OP 1 to OP 2 I prefer OP 2.
Is the 8 min OP for Season 1 one of the best anime ops ever? Hell yeah, but it's also way better than the TV size version and we haven't heard the full length version of OP 2 yet. I honestly doubt they can ever top that (just like how Haruhi EDs will never surpass the first one, same problem for any future Bakemonogatari sequel) but lets wait and see.

You know those "restoration" spells make more sense to me now that I know in Japan, older DQ games relied on passwords instead of saves...
Kasuga needs to accept the the power of cuteness.
Besides trying to be the strongest just makes you the weakest. Wait, that came out wrong.
I like Keima's theory about the loose souls effecting personalities.
If all else fails, go on a date.
I have been "defeated" the bounce of Kasuga's breasts.

04-18-2011, 08:02 PM
Yeah, this was a pretty short arc but I thought 2 episodes wrapped it up fairly well without making the arc feel like it was dragging. More importantly, Haqua! I'm glad we didn't have to wait too long for her to be introduced.
Keima seems a lot less competent and confident than he did in the last cour. I wonder if getting the crap beat out of him is going to be a recurring theme?
EmperorBrandon
04-18-2011, 10:31 PM
Two episode still gives her more time than Ayumi at least and a little more than Mio. I really loved some of the amusing scenes from the date. Kasuga is certainly one of the hottest of the girls so far and pretty adorable as well (though no one can beat Shiori's brand of adorableness). I also liked that her supposed "weak" side was a tough fight and she was awesome.
And looks like Haqua got introduced after the ending credits. Curious to see what she's like.

-Sorry dear, but Keima wins. He is a pattern recognition expert.
-KIAI! *Kasuga gains 10 spirit points*
-Ice cream kisses are the weakest thing?
-Elsie. The living embodiment of cute power?
Aww. I was hoping to have another episode with cute cat loving karate girl.

I'm not liking this show at all. Kasuga's arc is exactly the same as the previous four girls' arcs. There's nothing new here, and Keima continues to be a horribly inconsistent character. At times he's a super serious, kicking ass type of guy, but then he's also extremely nervous and embarrassed around the girls he's courting whenever something romantic happens. I would think he would be more confident after "mastering" four girls already, and I would think that his character would actually develop over the course of the show as well due to these experiences. However, Keima hasn't changed at all ever since he started collecting loose souls.
The only parts of The World God Only Knows that I've enjoyed thus far are the first two arcs — Ayumi and Mio's arcs — which is the best the show has ever been so far, and sadly it looks like that's also the best that it will ever be.
...and Keima continues to be a horribly inconsistent character. At times he's a super serious, kicking ass type of guy, but then he's also extremely nervous and embarrassed around the girls he's courting whenever something romantic happens.
For one instance, he only knew the game store as a destination for the "date". I find it hard to believe that his game play doesn't involve taking a girl to someplace on a date. He had previously shown himself as adept at following the routes in a game, but here he seemed totally unable to "play" the game.

Enter Haqua, the unquestionably hyper-competent and most certainly not even remotely tsundere section chief... Yeah I'm totally being sarcastic right now.
And with that, we get some much-needed exposition on the history of Hell and the nature of the runaway spirits. (No really, I'm pretty sure the thing with them posessing girls in order to reincarnate as their offspring was brought up way sooner in the manga... Not that it's been in any way relevant to the plot up to this point so I suppose it doesn't matter that much.)
On another note, lol at Keima's desperate struggle to get a bunch of events that could only be gotten at extremely specific points in time and required an internet-connection. That does seem to me like a rather crappy way of making a bishoujo-game, but eh. The Boo-balloons representing the runaway spirits were also rather funny/cute, though the more logical part of me can't help but question where he even got all that stuff from.
And of course, "We new demons are intelligent, rational creatures!" -> "OMG FIRETRUCKS YAY!!!". Awesome.

-Suddenly, MANLY BASEBALL! Seki Tomokazu faces ultimate despair.
-Buer is that you? Buer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buer_%28demon%29)? Buer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4zyjLyBp64)?
Haqua manages to look more incompetent that Elsie. Poor Haqua. Good at paperwork, horrible at reality. Yay firetrucks!

Hey! Keima! No cheating on Elsie! Cheater! Cheater! Cheater!
Tenbatsu! From a demon no less. That's what you get for cheating on Elsie!
You know. This is the first episode where I truly felt that Keima deserves the title God. His deduction abilities are fucking awesome!
Elsie... You're not helping. I know the fire engine is very pretty. So pretty... but um... um...

Haqua was quite the cute, prideful demon at first, but I think beyond that I've taken even more of a liking to her by the end. It's nice to finally get another demon girl besides Elsie into the story and start to learn more about their side of things. I'm certainly interested in seeing where this is going and seeing more of Haqua too.

Poor Haqua is being shown up by Elsie. For some reason I found Elsie to be adorable this episode, especially when she saw the fire engine. Haqua having her pride broken by Elsie and Keima was a surprise, but I guess being the best in the class and in the field are quite different. Keima does have good skills.

Oh, so Haqua is a classmate of Elsie's, not the older sister she mentioned sometime in season 1. She is, however, as much fun as I was expecting. Especially when Keima is pushing her buttons, either by catching her in her lies or just by pissing her off in general.
We get some interesting plot/world info and the loose soul stuff goes an unusual and interesting direction this time.
And Eslie's firetruck obsession comes back with hilarious timing.

Yay, Haqua. Her introduction is what I've been looking forward to the most this season and she doesn't disappoint. Tsundere and zettai ryouiki.
It took long enough to get the back information on runaway spirits. Interestingly enough, Keima and Elsie's capture rate is at an award worthy level. If it wasn't for his video game obsession, Keima would probably be the most competent and respected kid at school.
Elsie's enthusiasm for firetrucks continues to be very cute.

Wow. They didn't have Keima fill Haqua's emptyness. I'm really impressed at that actually. That was definitely something only Elsie could do then.

Haqua's seem pretty impressive. "Seem" since are only point of comparison is Elsie, who is..... well, she's Elsie. In any case, Haqua and Elsie's teamwork at the end was pretty cool. It was also a nice change of pace for Keima to mostly sit on the sidelines and have no direct involvement with the Loose Soul.

...Huh, wow. I never thought I'd be downright bored by an episode of Kaminomi. That's a first. Kusunoki is hot and all that but I wasn't even paying attention by about halfway through. - ...Know what's weird? For some reason, I had totally assumed Haqua, who I'd seen in fanart and such, was the sister Elsie mentioned early in season one. I guess it never crossed my mind that she was nothing of the sort.
- Haqua is great, especially when she hears how many souls Elsie has captured. I wonder how long she can keep the ruse up.
- Ooh, Haqua is a big failure. It's clear she was bluffing her achievements but it looks like it was worse than I expected.
- Hm, she's actually quite knowledgeable and competent with hunting techniques. Much more than Elsie. Then again, Keima does all the work for Elsie. She just cheers from the sidelines. But why does Haqua fail? Inability to understand people I guess. Book smarts vs street smarts?
- Serious discussion about demons! ...now an interlude where Elsie squees over a fire truck.

And so, Keima meets his greatest challenge of all time; Conquering a completely average girl. This immense obstacle proves too much for even the allmighty Conquering God, causing Kami-niisama to turn into Kami-NEETsama, only to be brought out of his depression by Ayumi who would just like to remind us that she still exists.
Easily my favourite episode so far this season. Keima's despairing over the sheer overwhelming number of runaway spirits/Chihiro being too bland for a heroine/Chihiro having too casual a view on love for a heroine/Chihiro being just too plain unlikable for a heroine/reality being too reality-like was just hilarious. But I disagree; I think she's plenty likable.
Also, yay for aknowledging the continued existence of former runaway-spirit-hosts!

Fuck yeah, a girl from an earlier arc actually returns and has an impact on the story! Yay for Ayumi returning.
So Chihrio is... incredibly shallow, "falling in love" with every hot guy she sees, quickly confessing, then crying and moving on. She's not very likable, but it sure makes things interesting.
Haqua sadly did not appear in the episode, but we got more Haqua endcard awesomeness (though not as much as the previous one).

THERE WAS NO HAQUA
WHY WAS THERE NO HAQUA!?
Cuz they skipped a manga chapter. (knew this was coming since they skipped the "hug" scene in episode 3, which provides most of the material for this chapter as well as giving the info about how many loose souls...) Pity since it had great Haqua and Keima interaction and a hilarious Elsie moment.
Personally if I was in charge of the adaption... and realizing that we might only have two seasons....
- The skipped chapter "Haqua's report" would've been the opening half of Episode 1 of the second season. Have Kusunoki's arc start of in the second half of episode 1 and end in episode 2.
- Haqua's 2 episode intro arc would've been episodes 11 and 12 of the first season. Inserting Haqua's arc before Kusunoki changes nothing except one number. Also having arguably your most popular female character appear in the first season might be a good move... (Elsie had 6031 votes to Haqua's 6021 on the mangaka's website poll)
- Since Haqua's 2 episodes are now in s1 Kanon and Shiori would've lost an episode each, both were padded out.
- And than I would've done all possible and skipped a few girls to get Tenri's arc in, it's the first real major event, it should've been done in the second season regardless of if a 3rd was going to get green lit.
I hope you guys get into the manga after you finish the anime, it's a travesty some of the stuff will never get animated. Such a shame this didn't become a hit for Manglobe, unlike some anal manga fans I've liked the way they've adapted this (and I think those fans need to watch some other adaptions to see how bad things can really get...), I just think they should've adapted it in a way to make the 2 one cour seasons as good as they can be. The way they've done it would've been fine if it was a 10k+ seller they could milk for 6-8 seasons... or a 52 episode series...

She's never really fallen in love, and has been going around pursuing guys I hopes that she'll find love but without any of the necessary connection or really getting to know them but simply going by their looks. Keima is actually engaging her and she's getting to know him and closer to him, and he's in his own way showing that he cares about her by helping her out. It's probably a safe assumption that she'll either back out of the confession Keima is setting up and confess to him...

So now Keima is using his conquering experience to help his Loose Souls target conquer a guy. That's brilliant.
Ayumi starts to make up for being shafted in the first episode with only one episode. I'm thrilled at her making a comeback and I can only hope she continues to play a decent role in the rest of the season.
And the firetruck gag continues. I was also amused at Chihiro wondering where Keima's voice was coming from, as he and Elsie hid behind her in Elsie's raiment.

That went about as expected. Chihiro doesn't confess to Yuta because she's actually fallen for Keima.
The boat scene was very cute. And her continued disinterest in the confession and tendency to ignore Keima's talk about and change the subject to other things was amusing and cute. Mainly she was cute when her face would light up about those other things, like the meat buns.

I'll third the hooray for Haqua's return. Her model school looks like it would be a lot of fun though I bet she re-enacts the scene with puppet Keima ravaging the puppet version of herself at home. Elsie's response to that was hilarious.

Two? I noticed one, (The game in the bargain-bin) but what was the other?
But those two/three things have got me thinking... Say, was it ever actually confirmed that this is one-cour? Because they seem like rather odd things to include otherwise, especially seeing how the one thing I noticed wasn't even in the manga-chapters this episode was based on...
But then again, chances are this is all just wishful thinking on my end... The lackluster sales of season one (or did it suddenly turn into a huge success while I wasn't looking?) does make it rather unlikely that they'd actually extend the series, so...

As I started this episode, I was just thinking how rare Teachers are as haramettes in anime. There seems to be a lot of them in porn (be it eroge, anime, or manga) but extremely rare in non-adult anime. So I was thinking of how unusual this would be..... then it turns out she's a teacher-in-training. And she's 21, while the normal teacher age seems to be in the late 20s or older. So even this only kind of counts.
Anyway, Jun has a pretty fun personality and is quite cute. And she's voiced by Toyosaki Aki. She's trying to "help" Keima, which makes for another interesting twist in the conquest dynamic. She's initiating contact which really throws Keima and it doesn't allow him to plan out his course of action on his own terms like he usually does.
As I started this episode, I was just thinking how rare Teachers are as haramettes in anime.
Seems like they're much less common than straight student/teacher romances. I remember one, Happy Lesson , that had 5 teachers living with a boy and I think Mahoromatic had a teacher in the group too. Don't want to restart the argument on what constitutes a harem though.

Happy Lesson and Please Teacher were the only ones I could think of, and those were both... what, 8 years ago or more? When I said "haramette", I just meant she was a love interest, not necessarily "harem", however you want to define it. I didn't think of Mahoromatic. I guess she counts, since she's explicitly after Suguru's penis even though he has no interest in her.

Actually I think the stories play out more like Mahoromatic, where the guy isn't interested in the teacher's advances. Even Happy Lesson and Please Teacher follow that formula. What's wrong with kids these days? ;)

Sure telling her to give up and not care about students like the burnt out teachers in the school would have been wrong. but this ending is more wrong because she learns the wrong lesson from all this.

While I somewhat agree with the sentiment (and Jun's not my favorite character to begin with), I think it was more that she needed to hold onto her ideals -herself-, but ease off on forcing them onto others. He wasn't trying to break her and force her to accept the real world (after all, he doesn't), as that would essentially be the same thing that she had been doing. She had to hold onto her ideals and be someone the students could look up to in a positive way, more like they saw her at the start.
There's a distinction he makes in the first or second episode when she first tries to talk to him, that the ideal world each person has is personal, and shouldn't be compromised on just for the sake of reality.

Yes, whether it is ultimately the right or wrong choice for Jun, the alternative of having Keima tell someone they should give up their ideals and embrace reality instead, would have been a complete contradiction of his entire life. :)
They obviously side-stepped a few things that could have clarified the situation. The class did go and apologize to Jun, but I seriously doubt they agreed to go along with her plan of everyone running in the marathon.
The most logical development for Jun would be to learn how to moderate her in-your-face style of promoting her ideals, to something much less strident.
It might be seen as compromising her ideals (which definitely are on the gung-ho side), but to absolutely refuse to compromise, can result in a Keima-esque decision to completely reject the world that fails to live up to one's ideals. That choice probably wouldn't make Jun a good teacher. :)
Also she did have the loose soul in her. She might very well have matured a bit since her basketball team days, but the effect of the loose soul could have exacerbated her tendencies so they were as bad as they used to be.
Now that it has been removed, maybe she will return to the way she was when she first arrived.
Would Jun have signed the class up for the marathon without their consent if she had not had been possessed by the loose soul? I would guess, probably not, but it is difficult to be sure, since the effects on her were not as obvious as it has been on most of the other possession victims. The ending might have been improved if they had been a bit more specific about the effect on her.

- So, Keima, when will you notice that Chihiro really doesn't care about that other guy anymore?
- Not any time soon. Chihiro's arc has a phenomenal atmosphere. It feels so much like the overcast, rainy day it depicts. Quiet, muted, a somewhat oppressive stillness in the air. Keima's intensity and Chihiro's seemingly flighty personality clashing. The really nice music. I don't know why I have so much trouble motivating myself to watch this show this season, I guess it's because it hasn't really clicked with me before Chihiro showed up and I kept prioritizing other shows in my limited viewing time.

Wait, what? Her problem is that she pushes her excessive enthusiasm on others, Keima flat out tells her its a problem..... and then tells her to just keep on being that way? The hell?
As for the end card, hello Urushihara Satoshi!
Oh crap, you're right! I.... didn't realize that. That would explain why I found it so attractive though, despite being fairly mundane.
Well, she had a shirt on, hiding his number one telltail.

- Okay, so I thought I remembred four heroines in this season but watching the OP confirmed that it's only three, which means the teacher (assuming that's what she is) either gets a long arc, or there's gonna be a couple non-capture episodes. This looks like one of the latter.
There are four: Kendo club girl, Haqua, Chihiro, the teacher.
Haqua only gets in on a technicality. And of course, Keima didn't conquer her.

My personal favorites are still 1, 2, and 8. Although it would be 2-8-1, in that order. I do like Jun though, so sad she's so low.
And I personally have never really liked Chihiro. Manga or Anime version. To each his own I guess, but I just don't understand the Chihiro love at all :P

So cruel.
Still, impressive how spread out the votes are. Looks to me like people were allowed to vote for a lot of different characters? That or they've done a good job making a lot of people like a lot of different girls. Nice to see Kanon rated very highly in Japan too since she didn't seem to be terribly well appreciated around here.

Manga popularity polls usually seem to have people write in their votes. I've seen full lists in the hundreds and/or with random single appearance characters that don't even have names getting one or two votes.

I was wondering more about the number of characters each individual can vote for, not the total number of eligible characters. If you let someone have, say, 10 votes then they're going to use 10, even if the 10th person they vote for isn't going to be nearly as much a favorite as the first.
If you forced everyone to vote for just one character, odds are it'd concentrate more in one or two top characters. Like, Elsie is probably on everyone's list somewhere - but how many people is she #1 for? (Well okay, probably a lot, but I'm picking a random example here).
So I'm just surprised there's no clear front-runner and everyone is so close, with the numbers descending rather gradually and smoothly. Just seems uncommon for a character poll.

Yay! Tange Sakura - even if her character was design was not very appealing, it was great to hear her again. Also it was quite the reunion episode.
All the Gundam references were pretty well done too. Didn't need to see quite that many naked chibi Keima for that long though.
Elsie looks so much better with her hair down.
So, are they hoping that by showing more future conquests, people will demand a 3rd season? I hope it works, I want to see more. :)

Tange Sakura more than makes up for the unappealing character design. :) It was really interesting how that hit me... was thinking her voice sounded so incredibly familiar from the start, then thought "Kinomoto Sakura?", and then "Holy crap, that is her..." in pretty quick succession. She's been back in voice acting a little while already but nice to hear a decent bit of her in a show I'm actually following (more than she got to speak in KoreZom at least).

Yeah, that KoreZom appearance was far too short. This was very close to her CCS voice, but it seemed just a little different to me. However, it has been far too long since my last rewatch, so my memory might have been faulty. I at first thought it might be an impersonation by another seiyuu. Until I saw her name in the credits I actually wasn't completely sure who it was.

Been a while since I last watched CCS too, so it's somewhat the same for me, but I've watched the whole series several times so it sticks to my mind decently enough. If I hadn't known Tange was active again lately with Korezom and Dog Days, I might have thought it could be someone else for a little while longer, but it only took a few more lines after I thought about Sakura before I was very convinced it was her. It was nice to see her name in the credits, though, and erasing what little doubt was left :)

Looks like they tweeted that they were lucky to get a chance to do the OVA... (though if the OVA bundle sells well I can see OVAs being released with each manga tank as a regular thing) I see the ending montage as fanservice to manga fans as well as a way to show anime viewers that there is still plenty more of Kami Nomi to come... but of course you need the manga to see that.
I really hope people here pick up the manga... it would be a miracle to get a 3rd season and the really good stuff happens in what would be the ending arc of s3, seasons 4, 6, 7 etc... Anyway was nice to see Tenri/Diana animated, even if it was for a split second.... Would be cool if something that could take up half of season 4 was animated as a movie.... definitely my fav capture arc of the series even though the girl isn't in my top 5...
And now I know what the OVA will be... I'm sure everyone here will enjoy it, really good choice of chapters, had a lot of fun reading them again as well as chapter 75 that episode 12 was partly based on.. Anime >>>> Manga version by far, just too godlike. And that song... need now!
All the cameos of the captured girls and the Season 1 OP being used @ the end was also really nice touches, pacing aside for a couple arcs, fuck the haterz, manglobe did a great job. If they had 100 episodes it would've been great....

Yay, Yokkyun! So, even though we didn't get that final arc the original trailer seemed to be promising us, at least they did take the best thing from that arc and include it in the anime anyway. I am willing to accept this compromise, though it still saddens me that after this, the OVA is probably the only thing we've got left to look forward to from this series. Or, okay, I suppose the possibility of a third season hasn't been completely ruled out yet, but... yeah, I doubt it's actually gonna happen.
Ah well, at least we still have the manga.

You know, I liked the manga from the first chapter, but it's really hit it's best work when it introduced Tenri, and then hit the current arc it's in now (in no small part to the large Haqua role).
And to think that wouldn't even occur until the end of the Hypothetical 3rd season is crazy :P

Juuuuun!!
Episode 11:
- Jun's blushing breaks my brain. Damn I love her. Definitely #3 KamiNomi girl.
- Haha, I hate wrestling but her giddiness is infectious.
- Having a heartfelt discussion in the middle of the audience of a pro wrestling match comes off as really awkward. Uh, and extra awkward for the dude sitting on the edge of the aisle between them. >_>
- Now Keima stands up too. Guys, go outside, the setting for this discussion is distracting from the emotional punch.
- Elsie walks in front of the dude too. Was it so hard to write the scene so that Keima was sitting on the end? :sd: This is bothering me waaaay more than it should.
- But anyway! Back in school. Is Jun's super cheerful mode just a cover or has she figured something important out?
- No, she's still got it wrong. Pulling everyone together isn't something you can easily do by sheer unilateral genki power.
- Fffffff, way to meltdown, Jun.
- Keima speaks! In class! Heh everyone seems momentarily shocked.
- Wait, Keima, your advice to her to overcome her overbearing personality is... be pushier? :sd:
- But it all magically works out because the class does something teenagers would never ever in a billion years do.
- Oh. Well, okay. They explain it but... ah no use complaining about it being far-fetched, I guess. It gives Elsie some spotlight!
- But about that loose soul...?
- Ah good it's not over yet. So Keima stays away from school for a few days to make her miss him more, heh.
- Haha oh man, Jun goes in for the kill herself. Not sure Keima had predicted that.
I do feel like this episode was executed awkwardly. I just couldn't buy some of it. But... I love Jun, absolutely adore her. So she's still my third favorite.

Episode 12:
- Heh. Kusoge graphics and kamige story. I'm sure it's total coincidence that the logo resembles Key's. :sd: This episode is going to be awesome.
- Kanon! And Elsie singling along! Duet now!
- Now Kusunoki, and Jun. Meanwhile Keima is enthralled.
- Chihiro and Ayumi.
- Katsuragi-imouto! Heh, she's mortified. Cutely.
- YOKKYUN!!!
- Oh hey Mio, have not seen her in a long time.
- Keima got Keyified. o_O
- Shiori!
- Keima in a skirt. >_>
- Haqua!
- Keima asked to create the idea visual novel? He'll be torn in so many directions trying to determine what he wants! I bet he inadvertantly ends up suggesting a straight up copy of this game.
- Hahah oh god I loooove the warring galge faction gags.
Ohhhh shit, those are some fantastic character designs on the girls at the end. Such a tease! I really don't see how the sales this is pulling in can support a third season, but I suppose they could be worse.
All in all I think the first season was a bit better, but the gap between the two isn't as big as I thought it would be early on in this season. Some parts of this one were fantastic. I didn't really get into it until the Chihiro episodes, and I don't think Jun's final episode was handled all that well (but her being awesome helped save it) but the central appeal of the show is still really strong. If they make more (not holding my breath), I'll most certainly watch, and this is one series where I might actually remember to watch the OVA in a somewhat timely manner.

Kusunoki's arc was meh, but important, if they ever animate more. Otherwise its easily the least interesting capture overall.
Jun's ending didn't make anymore sense in the manga, so at least they are being faithful. But oh god that tease. Tenri~~~

Chihiro is still working on that whole band-idea, together with Elsie, Ayumi and... I forgot her name so I'm just gonna call her Friend #4. Since they realize that they suck badly and don't have much time to practice, they decide to borrow the light-music club room and do it immediately after school. But Kodama-sensei doesn't want to give it to them, and challenges them to prove that they mean business by getting perfect scores in English. Makes... perfect sense. So since none of them are quite at that level, they get Keima to help them out. It works... for three of them. Elsie still fails though. But then they get the room anyway because having to help them also caused Keima to become distracted enough to not ace this particular test himself, and Kodama-sensei is rather overjoyed at this.
...Honestly, I felt that this episode was kinda disappointing. They left out a lot of the best parts from the manga, and on the whole it just didn't feel all that funny, really. Also, one random oddity: Like I mentioned, the band consisted of Chihiro, Ayumi, Elsie and Friend #4. They make a mention of not having a drummer yet, but nothing gets done about that in the actual episode... And then the instant the credits start they suddenly have one. Another tease for the hypothetical continuation, Manglobe? Oh yeah, and on that note, after the end credits, we once again got Elsie going "To be continued...?" I'm really not sure if I should take that as a "Please buy more of our DVDs and BluRays so that we may make a third series because quite frankly we really want to!" or "Oh yeah, we're still gonna continue BTW," or just "Muhuhaha we are going to drop hint after hint of a continuation even though we're not actually gonna make one. Just to be mean!!"...

I found this to be a pretty fun little OVA. Frankly the parts with the girls goofing around were the best for me. Interesting to see a bit more of Ayumi's and Chihiro's friend Miyako who wasn't seen too much in the TV series IIRC. The scene with her exiting the room after the others when they talked to Kodama-sensei was hilarious. Not as much interested with the Keima studying session, other than some continued hints about the girls seemingly not having completely forgotten about Keima (particularly with Kanon). Ah, I also really enjoyed the extreme Kanon hotness in the opening. That was awesome.
